Extremely easy! Use a flathead screwdriver place it in the groove and slide it to the left or right then pull down, unplug and replace with new housing. I googled how to do it. It took me 5 minutes to install.

I replaced my original tag light and put these on my 2006 330i and I have to say it looks good. No errors what so ever. I was really happy to see my tag light light up. The color of these lights are perfect they look just like the new BMW's nowadays. They are so bright that its overwhelming but in good way. I had to cover one of the led's row with a thin strip of tape just so the lighting can be right. Overall, I would def recommend you getting these if you simply want to change your tag lights. Installed them on my 2008 BMW 535i E60. Looks like new OEM lights on the 2014 bimmers, this is what I was going for. I have seen cars going down the road at night and could defiantly tell they bought aftermarket lighting for their license plate. I was afraid of this when purchasing, but these look good. The lighting is a nice balance not too bright at night and visible at dusk. I had to close the female terminals a little on the harness on the BMW side to get them to stop flickering but other than that works great.

Received item in a few days..just as described when purchased. Went to install them and on the one light the clip popped right out when i tried to put over license plate..other one went in just fine..clip got lost in the frame of the trunk, used super glue on the backing , hoping it holds!
