I had some minor driver issues, but that was kind of to be expected, I hooked it to a rack mount server running an evaluation copy of Server 2008 R2. Downloaded the available Windows driver package. It was double compacted, a .zip inside of a .rar file(Ubuntu 11 had no problem extracting either one, it was just mildly annoying!) Driver was accepted by 2008 R2 even though it wasn't one of the Windows systems listed, all I did was let the OS search the sub-folders on my thumbdrive. Then came the real surprise, sitting next to a tower with dual 9db antennas that was only getting 2 bars worth of signal, it was getting 5 bars and saw 5 more networks with it's stock antenna! For a lousy $12, including shipping, how cool is that? I will be ordering at least one more of these bad boys.

I had originally purchased this antenna and was a little disappointed in it because of the fact that it wobbles when attached to a USB port of a laptop; it is too big on the side. As a result I had purchased the "Panda Ultra Wifi" (for aesthetic reasons) even though it is 150 Mbps device. The "Panda Ultra Wifi" didn't seem to be stable enough for me in terms of consistent speeds; I would sometimes be a couple of feet away from the router and it *still* didn't give a solid 150 Mbps even when I changed to different channels on my router (Medialink 300 Mbps broadband router; by the way, customer service from Medialink is excellent). However, the EDUP adapter gives me a solid 300 Mbps from several rooms away. Despite the fact that this device wobbles on a laptop I started to accept it from a purely functional versus an aesthetic point of view. As a result, I purchased a 6 ft. USB to USB extension cable--USB male (which connects to the computer) to USB A female (which would connect to this antenna's USB). I also used a metal binder clip--mines had a black body with silver clips on the side--and attached it to the bridging where the USB male on the device and the USB female on the USB extension connection meet (clipping at this point gave me the best signal strength); the mostly flat part of the metal binder clip would be at the same side as the reset switch and the side clips would act as leg support when extended downwards. There is a little button on the base of the device which I do believe is a reset switch. I have used it but it doesn't seem to reset since I don't see a temporary disconnect (although this doesn't mean it didn't reset). Drivers can be downloaded at [...] and the description name listed on the website is "EDUP EP-MS8512 300Mbps High Definition TV USB 802.11n Wireless Adapter." NOTE: I have downloaded the drivers directly from the website and it worked; I do not recall whether the drivers that originally came with the device worked well since I was testing both devices on two different computers with two different operating systems. It works well with Windows XP and Windows 7. --- In July of 2013 this device broke but not because of the quality but I kept moving the device around from the base while using a metal binder clip. The antenna was too heavy that it split the USB part in half from constant moving. I would still recommend this product but perhaps for a desktop where one will not constantly move the antenna all the time (which is what I did since I had a laptop). The USB casing could have been more stable and that is why I bought the Rosewill USB 2.0 External 5dBi Antenna Wireless Adapter (RNX-N180UBE): B004BV4JXI It seems like that design is hardy enough to sustain the antenna since it has a (better USB casing). I would recommend the Rosewill for laptops. A note of caution for laptop users because sometimes using Windows 7 and an older laptop requires an update to the BIOS. I originally had Windows XP and the Rosewill worked fine but when upgraded to Windows 7 with the latest BIOS on my laptop it refused to work with the antenna. In this case it is a firmware issue; I was out of luck because HP does not support further updates to resolve this issue.

I was somewhat skeptical that a device this cheap could perform as well as the previous reviewers indicate but purchased it on the strength of their reviews. My order arrived blindingly fast and I eagerly opened and inspected my newest gadget. The fact that it is so small again told me that this device cannot be a 5 star device but I plugged it into my Windows 7 Home Theater PC to check it out. I installed the drivers from the included mini-CD using their provided setup and rebooted my computer. On logging in I found the device up and ready to work. After connecting it to my Wireless Access Point I surfed the net and then watched a full length movie on NetFlix with no stuttering at all. This device gets an 88% signal where other devices get, at best, a 50% signal. It is well deserving of the 5 stars that I and previous reviewers have given it. Ease of installation, performance, quality of workmanship, speed of delivery - all are 5 stars. This is easily the best value I've ever come across.
