Last out to amp or board. The only other piece that would enhance it afterwards might be a Sonic Maximizer

Mine has the plastic bottom, I know two guys who have them and they are identical. I tore the rubber off mine so I could put the Velcro on easier. Hope this helps

I don't know. But the fuzz I bought picks up a sports radio station nice and clear.

I use it as an overdrive with a British voiced amp. You may want a different sound, but I leave it set with the high @ 1 o'clock the mid @ 11 o'clock the bass @ 10 o'clock, the voice nob set at 2 and the volume/gain dialed to taste. The highs can get a tad raspy when playing alone, but in a band they help cut through.

I have three of the original tech 21 pedals and three of the joyo copies. The only one I did not love was the Joyo California, but I suspect I got a lemon on that one. The three tech 21's cost a total of 450, and the three Joyo's cost a total of 110. (145 if you include the replacement for the California lemon) These pedals are SMD technology, as are the tech 21's, just FYI. The cranked sound on this really sounds just like cat scratch fever. Cab sim works great, so no additional software cabs are needed.

Great tone...surprisingly good for the price. I watched several YouTube presentations before pulling the trigger on this one, but I'm glad I did. Went through a battery pretty fast, but I used a 9V PSU (Power Supply Unit) from a different pedal, and it worked great. Doesn't have a huge amount of gain, but it gets mighty dirty using the bottom 3 knobs. The middle tone knob added more dirt than I expected, and was helpful to play at bedroom levels. Very happy with the unit. I use it with a TC Electronics Flashback X4 through a Fender Pro Jr (rebodied into a bigger cabinet) and sometimes a reverb pedal...sweetness

Very good pedal - While I don't believe it sounds exactly like a Fender Deluxe it has some of that character and it IS a GOOD sounding pedal - I use it for live performances along with a compressor and few effect pedals (rev, dely, mod) and it works really well. I don't like the heavy drive settings at all and it can get noisy at higher gain and/or with VOICE control (as you turn it clock wise) - I like it for adding charcater/punch to my live rig - the tone controls allow you to make quick changes just as if you had an amp and I can now just plug into a board and use monitors instead of lugging my amps. Great unit overall.

I have only demoed not owned the Tech21 Blonde upon which this pedal is based but here is my take. Great little pedal at a great price. I usually use it to get a bit more vintage Fender tone, which it does real well. With the voice and drive pulled back to 9:00 and the output level at about 2:00 you get a really great Early Tweed sound. Also makes a great OD, simply dime the voice and then play with the level and drive to taste. Breaks up real nice. My only gripe with this pedal is you get a bit of noise unless you pull the drive way back, not incredibly noisy but you do notice it at practice volumes.

As a very cost-conscious musician, this pedal was on my radar for quite a while before I committed to buying it. I knew this was a clone of the Tech21 Blonde character pedal - which sounded great but was a little beyond my budget - but was leery about quality issues. Ultimately, the price swayed me. The pedal's build quality is very good: it's sturdy, nothing feels loose, and even the knobs have a solid feel to them. It doesn't add any noise or suck tone from the signal when bypassed, either. I've dragged it along with me to many band rehearsals and have had no issues with it whatsoever. Of course, while physical issues are important, the most crucial quality of a guitar pedal is its sound. The Joyo American Sound shines in that department. You can dial in a wide array of tones with this pedal, and all of them capture that classic Fender-y slinkiness. The drive is very responsive to pick dynamics and the guitar's volume knob, and the voicing control gives you a lot of control over your sound. I've used it in front of solid-state and tube amps alike, as well as in a direct recording setup, and have been pleased with my tone in every instance. The newer versions of the Tech21 character pedals have a defeat switch for their built-in speaker emulation. The Joyo pedal, based on the first generation of the T21 series, lacks this feature. It has not diminished its usefulness to me in any way for live playing, but some people feel the speaker emulation colors their tone too much through an amplifier. I'd highly recommend the Joyo American Sound, and doubly so at the price.

I bought this months ago and never used it. I was playing it through a AC4TV and hated it. This was before it occurred to me that I was wanting fender tone and trying to achieve it though a British practice amp. I decided to give it another try through my newly acquired Yamaha Thr10C amp. This thing now stays connected in my chain for that amp. Together, between the different amp models on the amp itself and the American pedal by Joyo, I have a lot of quality sounds(to my ears) to play with. I mainly play clean with reverb, trem, or delay going. Sometimes I will dial the drive up and go a little harder and this handles that as well. Also to note, I can dial this in next to my TS-9 and you could not tell the difference. My TS-9 has actually dropped out of my chain in favor of the American just for the reason that I can get what I need from it out of this. I think I just might have to buy the California model by Joyo to try now. I usually stay away from cheaper pedals because they are so hit or miss but I am happy with this one!

I love this "American Sound" pedal and it has now become my favorite low to mid gain pedal. It is supposed to mimic the sound of a late 50's fender amp and I think it does a great job. I was looking at tube screamers and other low to mid gain overdrives to complement my marshall DSL40C tube amp. I listened to many youtube videos of the whole joyo series of amp sims and this one was my favorite. It is extremely well balanced and can be used as a clean or dirty sound and anything in between. I prefer having a full bass-mid-treble eq as opposed to just a tone filter knob. The voice control allows for nice mid boost. I am very impressed with the joyo line of products, I also have the compressor, eq, and d-seed delay, all great pedals and great values.

I play through a pedalboard with old school analog stompbox effects into an Egnater Tweaker. To keep the sound guy out of the picture, I use the SEND on the Egnater's effects loop...into the Joyo JF-14 with the drive set very low to keep it clean, out of the Joyo, into a small mixer with the eq flat, then into a powered 1x12 monitor. This way I have total control of my guitar monitor level. The Joyo actually blends VERY nicely with the Egnater's tone and adds a Fendery texture. I haven't tried it direct to house yet, but with a little time I am betting you can dial in a great tone. The knobs are easily bumped. I solved this issue by placing small nickel sized rubber washers underneath each knob. This causes extra resistance when trying to turn the knobs. Holds them in place much better. Great simulator pedal on the cheap!

Not so sure I love it yet but it has a nice sound gets muddy bold crunchy and has some nice brightness when down lower. Im still tinkering with it but overall happy with it. Not sure I will put it on my semi permanent pedalboard chain. Like it alone with clean channel on my fender champion and my semi hollow body thin Ibanez Artcore. Sounds early "Chicagoish"

These pedals are made nearly indestructible and a heavy construction. This pedal seems to bring a good many sounds from clean to overdrive to distorted according to adjustment,I really have tried every setting possible and was pretty impressed with the sounds I could get from it.

Tested this pedal with a 58 Gibson Les Paul Jr and a Fender 212R amp. This pedal really achieves what it's supposed to do. The Low/Med/High levels create a variety of distinct sounds and a good strong punch. With so many settings, there are a lot of sounds to pick from. This is a great sounding pedal for the price (currently around $40). I didn't think to shoot any video, but I found a good example online. Check the comments below. I was provided this item for review.
