No. It is simple and relatively inexpensive. Allows wireless remote functions but has no timer to control multiple exposures .

The shutter operates very good at far larger distance then I will ever need, I use it for bird fotography wherby I place the camers on a strategic spot and walk away myself out of sight of the birds, I also use it for portarits and group pictures , it gives me more liberty to guide the model(s) and the added sharpness is a plus. Usulally I do not use the hotshoe as I need it for the flash but attach it to the tripod with a rubberband, that works just as well I was so eager to order this remote that I did not pay proper attention to which model camera it will work for ( cable fit) and ordered the wrong model so I had to order an extra cable so look good before you order and do not repeat my stupid mistake

It works much easier than I was expecting. The only thing that would have been nice with the design would be if the receiver had an indicator light to let you know when the power was on/off (the remote has various settings with indicator lights). But, once you get used to the equipment, it's not a big deal. The whole set takes a total of 3 AAA batteries. There's a picture on the inside of the receiver that shows which way the batteries need to be put in so it's not that difficult to figure out. In the instructions, it says you can also purchase additional connector cables if you need this product for other types of equipment. The manual is a little difficult to understand because it is in slightly broken English but if you've got a little common sense and just mess around with the transmitter and controller, it is very easy to figure out. One thing I still haven't messed with is the code. You can adjust the code of the components if other technology are interfering with your remote and the receiver. I don't foresee ever needing to do that but if I do, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. This is only my first time using it so I'm not sure about longevity of the product but it was easy to take out of its packaging and I'm happy with how well it works thus far.

I LOVE finally having a wireless remote shutter that is compatible with my Canon T5! I am a blogger and and don't have the "insta-husband" to post behind the camera to continuously snap photos of me, so I never find myself in any of my hobby photos. UNTIL NOW! I popped this baby open the moment it was delivered (which was very quick, by the way!) and set it up with my tripod), added some batteries and WA-LA! We were in business! You can hold the clicker down halfway to focus, the same as you would for the shutter on the actual camera, and then a full click to snap the photo. This is also great because I have such low lighting in our home, that being able to set it up on the tripod and not actually hold the camera allows me to lower the shutter speed and not have to worry about the photos being shaky or blurry. Here are the two photos I snapped immediately after unboxing. I can't wait to take some family photos instead of being trapped behind the camera, never to be seen. Added note: Make sure to turn off BOTH the shutter AND the remote when you are done using this, otherwise you'll go back later to take more beautiful photos only to find OOPS.... no more juice in the batteries. I'm very pleased with this product. Happy photographing!

The Viltorx Jy-120-c1 wireless remote shutter works very well.I am a novice photographer and this remote shutter was super simple to add batteries and figure out. Looking forward to using it a lot more in the future in low light / moon photography. Pros: Takes three (3) AAA batteries, two in the mount that attaches to the camera, and one to the remote. It was very easy for a novice photographer to figure out. took about 2 minutes to set up and begin shooting. Cons: because it attaches to the hotshoe, you cannot use the flash. does not come with a strap for the remote.

I am a real estate photographer. I was using a Satechi WR-100 before this one. It died after a year of very heavy use. It has been discontinued and I had to search for another to replace it. After much searching I came across this Viltorx JY-120-C1. I am very pleased so far and have used it on 20 shoots. Seven great features I am pleased with: I can use it on my Canon 70D and my back up T6i with no problem. I do not have to be near the camera and attached to a cable. For those that want to be in the photo during those family portraits. You do not have to set the camera’s timer. Get in the group and smile with the rest of them. Both the remote button and the receiver use AAA batteries. To save the batteries, both units have an off and on switch with indicator lights to let you know they are off or on. My other unit did not have that feature. With no indicator light and I was constantly forgetting to turn it off. The receiver had a re-chargeable battery. If I forgot to shut it off I was out of luck. Had to go back to the old fashioned cable. I do not have to use the hot shoe. It is already occupied with my flash trigger. I use Velcro wrapped around the cable and tripod leg to prevent free dangling of the receiver. The button unit is small and has a place to attach a cord so one can attach it your wrist. I find not having to hold the button unit very helpful. If it is not attached, I promise you will drop it or set it down and loose when you get busy doing something else. You can use it with other camera brands by purchasing a different cable. If I change camera brands I will obtain a different cable for that camera. Last, the price. Under $20.00 US for a helpful addition like this remote. So far, I have no reason to give it less than five stars.

OK so I am new to Photography and just bought the Canon Rebel EOS T5 bundle from Amazon at an amazing price. After watching some videos on YouTube I decided to try night time shots of the stars. When taking those types of photos you really should have a remote like this, because you cant have any shaking going on. I set up my tripod and camera, use this handy little tool and stand back and do my thing. I would recommend this item for sure.

Bought this to help with the taking of special photos where I have problems with the camera shaking even on a tripod. I have played with the remote, testing it under different conditions. I am so very happy with it, does exactly what I need it to do. I would recomend this to anyone interested in photography, novice or experienced
