Have only used the rod holder a few times but from my experience it works as described. It is very sensitive and trips easily so the slightest bite will set it off. I do think it is very strong for smaller fish that could tear the hook out of the fishes mouth. One thing it could use is a design that would attach it to a boat like a c-clamp attachment built into the holder but all in all I am pleased with my purchase.

This is a heavy duty all Metal pole holder. Top of the line. Easy to put together, very durable when the big fish take off and the rod is still in the holder. The adjustable screw for height difference is made of Metal and is easy to adjust. No more wet poles from sitting on the ground, up off the ground 8-10 inches and in midair. Great product for kids, parents and anyone that has never fished before.

My husband LOVES these, I forgot them ONCE on a fishing trip and he almost never forgave me. They are sturdy, they work well (after you get the hang of them), they can be a little scary to "release" but as long as your face is NOT right in front of it youll be fine. There is a learning curve to them. BUT we love them, he loves them, and everyone we have ever seen fishing has asked us about them and wants a set for themselves. We have children and thus do not get to just "sit and fish" and are usually chasing one of them around or digging in the snack bag etc etc etc. These make fishing a breeze and so much more enjoyable and we have not missed a fish since we purchased! HIGHLY recommend and will ABSOLUTELY purchase again. Although I doubt we will ever need to, we have put these guys through heck and back and they work just as good now as the first day.

Finally got to see this rod holder in action and I gotta admit it was pretty cool. It’s strurdy, well made, easy to use and it even holds 4’8 ultra light rods. The trigger system works well and it sets the hook nicely for you. So far I’ve used it for a split shot rig set up while trout fishing and even with lots of line slack the system doesn’t fail and still sets the hook for you. I included a video with my review where you can see this rod holder in action.

Was hesitant with seeing some reviews that it didn't work. Yeah not sure what they were doing wrong but I rigged 2 of these during a fishing trip last weekend - caught 6 catfish and 2 bass while enjoying beers and sunny day. Will say though, when testing this without a line on it, scares the poop out of you when it triggers hahah

Worked well caught a few fish off this thing and I really like how it sets the hook for you. No need for bells or other tools to notify you that you have a fish, the spring sound going off lets you know. Ordering more after I write this review. Great gift idea for dad for fathers day just saying.

literally read all the reviews before buying and I wasnt dissapointed. They were mainly positive reviews and the rod stald/holder/fish hooker works as intended! As soon as I got my item in the mail i went to go and try it out, soon enough my rod was getting little nibbles. I waited a bit and then Fish ON!!! It was a small mouth bass!! Im pretty impressed with it and would highly reccomend to anyone who loves to go fishing or for beginners too!

Okay, I have BNO affiliation with this product/company/manufacturers/ etc, etc. This is my experience, and my experience alone. Seen this product on a YouTube fishing video. Either 618 or TyPatrol.... looked neat, bought it, and looked forward to it coming in. (BTW... I got the double set). The day they camne in, the wife and I went fishing. Stuck them in the mud, cast the rods, set them in the holders, tightened the line, rigged trigger and waited. A few minutes later, my rod get a nibble.... A little more nibble.... a little more nibble.... It was funny... My wife is saying, "Just get you pole and hook the fish." I am laughing and saying " Just give it a minute. I would like to see if this thing works." Back comes the fish and more nibbles.... then all of a sudden, the rod flings up. You could tell that a fish is on because the rod did not come all the way up to a vertical position. (There was definite tension on the line) I grab the rod from the holder and sure enough... FISH ON!!!!!. We could not believe it. The wife and I were laughing the whole time I reeled it in. Was it a monster fish? No. Just a little Muddy Water Catfish, but it works! First Time it worked. We just received these in the mail the other day and only used them that on time, however; we are looking forward to going back out to use these again. How many fish did we catch while using these? I don't remember off hand. How many got away? Hard to say. We would cast into the river and sometimes floating debris would hit and tug on the line causing a premature trigger but I can say that everytime a fish caused the trigger to snap, BAM... FISH ON!.... I (WE) really do recommend these. For like??? I forget what I paid ($39.00???) Way worth the fun!!! Highly recommend. Hope this helps.
