Rope grabs move up and down vertical lifelines for continuous fall protection. The manual design allows user to fix location of unit for positioning or restraint applications. 
If the climber should fall from an elevated position the mechanism does not allow movement and will restrain the fall. Movement up and down the rope can only be achieved by manually depressing the action lever thus relieving the restraining mechanism.
