I guess we would all like not to need an external device to do all this, and not all users need the extra ports. I am using mine new Mac to convert old S8 Movies (some that need the sound dubbed back onto the video images via the audio port), VHS tapes, and photos into a modern digital format for archiving, and all these ports are essential to attach devices for completing that task. The hub immediately worked as advertised with no additional action from me, was delivered next day, and was the most cost effective way to get all these ports in one reasonably small unit.

When I got a new computer that had only USB-C ports I needed something to let me replace a whole bag full of adapters from my old machine. This one adapter replaced that entire bag and fit in the case for my portable drive. It is light, compact and replaces all the other adapters and for a great price.
