bought it during my recent business trip to Shanghai. I like it a lot. It does what it promises. Good and enjoyable music. Right out of the box, the music sounds a bit bright in the high frequency. I then tried out a few different earbud and found one that sound the best and comfortable to me. I also played a bit with the equalizer to cut back the high frequency. It is now just right for me.

After drooling over this for quite a while, I finally succumbed and bought it. The sound is very good, I love the fact that it uses memory-cards - no worries about drive failing, or worrying about the drive being affected by shocks, not that I suggest you drop this player. When you have a lot of songs, scrolling through them can take a while using the scroll-wheel. Wish there was a way to jump to a specific alphabet . wish they were able to play ISO files, so I could simply image my CDs.

I bought the X5 primarily to listen to 24 bit Hi-Res audio after listening to an external USB DAC and AMP on a friend's cell phone which had a striking difference in audio quality as compared to the headphone out. The X5 features that I found most impressive are the large (32 GB w/ dual micro-SD) memory support, construction quality, and long runtime. I often leave my headphones attached to the X5 and plug it into my computer's USB where it is setup as one audio device.

I am not a professional writer reviewer, I don't claim to be an audiophile but, I love to listen good music and I am just a user. I was looking for a dedicated portable player or a DAP and I came across ONN X5 . It is only second day and I don't feel regretted at all for the buy. As usual TOMTOP was quick with the delivery and I got it yesterday. I moved all my iTune songs to it and yay!! I have a DAP now and I tried to couple it with FIIO DAC FIIO E17 and it works great with my headphone

I would not call myself an audiophile. I'd certainly like to be one, but I don't know that I'm there yet. That said, I have to say, compared to the iPod Touch 5th edition, this is ONN's Mozart to Apple's Bieber. The sound quality is vastly superior, so much so, that even I, novice listener, can tell. Naturally, I did not use just .mp3 file formats to formulate this opinion. I have been on a months-long quest to replace my existing music collection (of .mp3 file) with lossless files. I started out with the iPod Touch 5th Gen, and while the sound felt richer, it wasn't by a significant margin.

I no longer care about listening to music without any kind of adjustments. After 40 years of being an audiophile, I found sound quality is pretty much like drinking wine after a certain point. Just listen to what you like. Especially now a days in-expensive equipment can be pretty decent. Besides, the fact is that all audio engineers also play around with circuits to create their own signature sound and charge a fortune for their equipments. If you can get the sound you like easily and cheaply, why not.

I put those same files on the Fiio and BAM! AWESOME MODE! The quality of outputted sound is easily detectable even to the novice ear. I find myself immersed in music in a way I was not before with the iPod series. I hear things in songs I could not hear before. I fell in love.
