I got a free hosting/ftp account at https://byet.host/free-hosting/news (did I mention free?). Then I took the ftp login address password etc and put it in to the ftp config area of my awesome kkmoon dvr. Reason I say awesome is because this thing cost less than 24.00 including ship when I got it. I hooked my 4 cameras up and am very happy with everything. Yes, like others I was super confused and kind of mad on everything because no good docs and even youtubes are unhelpful. But once you figure it all out you will see it works great. A million features. And even the motion detection areas work great where I dont get false alerts on some tricky areas. Keep playing around with the ftp settings. You will get it to work. Check the DVR and TV line connection is normal. If there is no problem, check the TV under the video input signal right. When connected via VGA or HDMI, the TV video signal is also set to the appropriate VGA or HDMI mode. Action video: https://youtu.be/pKz0pVGc5B0

I am adding to my review because I read through the negative comments after I done my review, from reading the negatives I can see many people automatically think that if they can't get it to work then it is a poor product. Router settings can block the DVR for example and yet I see people writing will not connect to my network, question did you check your network was set up correct to accept DVR ? NO ! yet you blame product? I gave this 4 stars because I thought it was very simple to install and it is, however if you don't know basics of router settings then you might have to watch a few how to videos on you tube. The unit is Very simple to set up, requires your own hard drive but lets be honest who does not have an old PC lying around ? I stuck in an old 1TB drive, simple open box push connection and screw drive to body of recorder, close box and turn on. I have 12 cameras connected, the better camera you buy the better image and night vision. I have the DVR working via two windows 10 laptops, two tablets (android) and a mobile phone (android) I fitted CCTV for a job around 25 years ago so big changed but I would say any good DIY'er could install a decent system. consider buying a power supply unit and this will save loads of plugs to provide all your camera with power. looks more professional too. I found when using viewing app's it was better to add manually rather than via QR code, also try different Apps xmeye works best for me. Hope this helps...
