Yes, unless it's really high wind. In that case it's not safe to fly in, anyway. It has a ring in it, that makes it stay. It's also really large.

Theres two ways to answer this question. In total darkness NO because it has no light's on it. However the back side of pad is of tinfoil like colour. So with moon lighting you can see either side fine from a mid distance

I have not had my Mavic complain, but it might nonetheless be good practice to calibrate the compass above your take-off point before you place the landing pad there.
