Really light weight. Not really able to fly well with much wind. I would recommend stepping up to a heavier more stable drone because if you base your experience on this one you really won’t get a true experience.

Was sent with no manual and was missing several pieces. Would not recommend. I was excited to fly this but the camera portion is not useable due to the missing holder.

I bought this quad copter to replace a cheaper Ohuhu model that got stuck in a tree. This one looked like it was a little better quality than the Ohuhu in that the blade guards screwed on and the camera is easily detachable. The FPV feature was also a nice pro but, unlike other cameras, there is no memory card so the only way you can record video or take pictures is by linking it with a phone. The video software is OK but lacks one major feature -- there is no way to share the recordings (at least not with the Android version). I suppose you could connect your phone to a PC and try to find the files in the phone's file system to retrieve them but, other than that, the only way to view your photos and videos is on the device you recorded it on. The phone links via wifi signal but it is not secure so anyone can connect to it (might be good or bad depending on if you want an audience or not). It had a much shorter range and the battery didn't last as long as the Ohuhu (probably because of the FPV wifi signal). After only flying it four times one of the motors stopped working. I checked to make sure the gear wasn't just misaligned but no such luck. The motor was dead. I hoped that Syma would be at least as good as Ohuhu (they're probably manufactured from the same factory in China) but no such luck. Took it back for a refund.

I got my first quadcopter three years ago and this is the fourth quad that I have owned. A couple of my co-workers have the same quad, so it seemed a safe bet to get one myself. My decision was based on having observed them flying the Syma X5 indoors at close range conditions. When I got mine and took it outdoors for a test flight I was sadly disappointed. Upon vertical ascent, it reached about fifty feet and dropped like a stone when the signal dropped out. This was experienced over and over again, leaving me frustrated. There are numerous Youtube videos of people hacking the transmitter to get 2 to3 times the range. After trying several different modifications the range was still seriously poor. The video camera is just a novelty with no way to change the camera angle. With the poor range, it is pretty useless. My third quadcopter is a Holy Stone X400 and I have ground tested the signal range to be effective at over 630 feet. I can fly it vertically to the point it is almost out of view, but still within control range. This is the second Syma I have owned, the Syma X1 that preceded this one is now a shelf warmer after numerous motor replacements and a total lack of control from the transmitter. I will never buy another Syma. I was considering purchasing the X8; but with my history with Syma products I will be migrating to the higher quality quads like the Yuneec Typhoon or DJI Phantom. At this point, I am ready to move away from toy quads to the serious flyers.

This drone does not work as described. The drone says it offers "FPV Real-Time." However, there is considerable lag between when the video is taken and when your phone will display the footage, so the only way to fly it is line-of-site. Furthermore, the signal is very weak, and loses the connection easily and often. So if you're purchasing it for this feature, you're wasting your money. It's not bad as a line-of-site mini-drone. It has decent power, range, and responsiveness. But it's supposed to be more than that. Sure, it's cheaper than most FPV drones on the market, but you get what you pay for. Consumers would be better off buying a standard, non-FPV drone that's less expensive, or a drone that's more expensive, but does what it claims it does.

This drone is one of the worst I've ever flown. It seems as though the programmers flipped the equation for balancing the drone in windy conditions. If this drone flies into even the slightest breeze, it slows down and stops in place even with full forward throttle. The reverse happens going downwind. Instead of decreasing its pitch, this thing accelerates and increases its pitch exponentially. THE OPPOSITE OF THIS IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. The programmers of this need to recall this product and fix their extremely simple, but very frustrating, mistake. Also, the FPV feature is NOT very high quality. Even when you're standing just a few feet away, the live feed is horrible. I timed how slow the connection was and it clocked in at a 20 SECOND delay! And that was with me standing three feet in front of it! The live feed video signal also interferes with the Drone's signal, so the range is, at best, 30 feet. With all the extra baggage this thing is carrying with the same old battery as the X5C, the flight time is around four minutes. Two if you're streaming video. I'd STRONGLY recommend purchasing the X5C-1 because it's got a better camera, and it cuts through the wind like it isn't even there. The headless mode on this quad is messed up as well. It gets confused as to which direction it started at, and you end up with a flipped orientation and it's extremely difficult to fly the quad back to you. TRUST ME. THIS QUAD SUCKS!

I was not impressed with the performance of this toy. It looks cool and similar to a DJI but the features are nothing alike. The specs say 50 meters range but it's more like 20 at best. It has zero control on low setting and headless mode does not work on low setting either. On a slightly breezy day I lost control of the drone and it got stuck in a tree. On high setting everything works good and it is easy to control but not worth the price I paid for it. I should have spent seven dollars more and gotten the JXD 509W that has altitude hold, FPV and return feature. I would not recommend this to anyone. If it wasn't for the fact it got stuck in a tree and damaged a propeller I would return it as defective. I may modify the range but haven't decided since it requires you to solder new antennas on transmitter and drone.

Purchased this quad as a starter quad. Worked fine for a week then the problems started. When flying outside there has to be zero wind or you can not control it. Battery life..very poor best I got was about 6 minutes..Flying in FPV, Not a good idea to much of a delay.. The thing I am really disappointed with is the small gears that are on the motors move making the quad not fly..I have to open the covers on the gears and slide them back down..on top of that now the quad is drifting backwards. IDK if the blades are out of balance or its the gears or what...I can't fly it now..The price I would have to say is not worth it..My opinion its a 30 dollar quad not a 60 dollar one. Overall very very disappointed..Hate giving these type of reviews especially when i researched for over a month before ordering...

I had to get used to flying this drone, as I had never had one or flown one before. I like the camera and how it has the live feed with the app. However, it's extremely light, and the slightest breeze throws it off course. I definitely recommend flying it on a nearly windlass day and in a large open area with little chance of it going into traffic if it crashes. I bought (separately) a set of 6 extra batteries and a charger that charges all 6 at once, and very quickly. I recommend buying that too.

I purchased this model after having an X5C that burnt out a motor. I really liked the X5C. I expected this model to be the same but better. I do not think it's as good. The benefit is this model has headless mode, which make it easier to fly (for a beginner). The FPV is neat but it adds complication to the operation (having to set your phone to the copters Wifi). The real drawback is this model does not fly in the wind very well. It has a bug that causes the plane to push less in the wind instead of pushing harder. This bug makes it near uncontrollable in a slight breeze.

This is a good drone for the price point. Mine did not come with a charger which did not matter as i ordered spare batteries that came with a charger. The drone is great for entry level. I am highly disappointed in the camera that is far from HD. The camera is actually very poor quality and this is one of the things i had hoped we be good to get some good shots of my property and a few cool photos on vacation. The pictures are not worthy for any pictures of people and friends. The quality is very low. That being said, the drone works as described and is a great toy. For the small price tag obviously I was expecting too much, but it did say the camera was HD. If i did it again I would save a little extra money and get one with a better camera.

I bought this to experience the first person view before I upgraded to a more expensive flyer. The package was pretty beat up when it arrived and the blade guards were warped to the point that the blades hit them. I just threw on a set from my x5c. Fpv works fairly well for a quad under 50 bucks. Headless mode seems to work fine but won't be using it to much. Overall, the x5c is a better flyer and I'll probably be flying that one most of the time. By the way, what's with the hooks on the blade guards? They catch everything!

Got for my husband as a Christmas gift. After much research, this one had the best reviews for a beginners 1st budget friendly drone with camera. I also purchased extra battery packs, otherwise the flying is limited to about 5-10 minutes (barely enough time to figure it out!). But extra parts and battery packs are relatively cheap, so its a great idea to go ahead and get extra stuff while your at it! The drones price was fair for a beginner adult or kids toy, and tho my husband had trouble figuring out how to work it, our 9yr old was handling it like a pro and showing us how to do it! One issue I have tho is the durability...one crash (and many are expected while learning) will break something! Thus, the extra parts are handy. The legs tho, are necessary to land without harming the video. And ours keep coming off and should be easily snapped back in and tighten with the supplied super tiny screws...but the screws are also cheap and only good for 1 placement due to them being stripped out and useless. Otherwise, no other issues, we havent tried the video yet, but hope to next time!

Ok, this was the second one of these drones that I purchased, the first one was lost in the mail, (it was coming in from China) and I had to reorder this one at a higher price. Regardless of that, it does have some issues with the software for the FPV feature (App won't load correctly, and have to reinstall every time I want to use it). I took it on a maiden flight and sure enough it flew pretty nice, but due to a VERY light breeze, it got stuck in a tree about 20 feet off the ground. When I finally managed to get it to come down from the tree, I noticed that one of the arms had cracked and the Quad would no longer fly correctly... I gave it 3 stars because of how fragile and underpowered it is. Unfortunately, as a person that actually works for a living, I can't afford any of the large 4 figure price tag drones that are on the market, and wanted something to be able to take basic aerial shots of my son playing in the park. I'd recommend this drone for indoor use only, since the slightest breeze will carry it away.

Arrived 2 weeks early. Packaging left something to be improved on. They simply put the box in a bubble envelope and sent it from Shanghai to Chicago. Needless to say the box was completely crushed. All the items were in good condition though. Flew the copter for the first time in very calm conditions. The copter flys very stable and was very easy to set up. I really like the way the battery door works and the fact that there is an on off switch on the copter. The bad part was that you could tell that it was fighting with even a small breeze. I dont know if i would call it a wind bug. I think its just that this copter is so light and the new landing gear catches to much wind. I did not have the prop guards on it but i think that would have made it worse. Im going to try and fly it with out the landing gear and camera next time and see if it improves. All in all your getting some cool technology with the wifi fpv on a decent copter for less than $80.
