Yes the left hand is throttle. About the usb charger you have to check if the problem comes from the battery I had one that I thought it was the cable but it wasn't the problem was the battery was sulphated.

Turn remote and quad on and connected then hold left stick down and to the left and hold the right stick up and to the left...make sure quad is level when doing this....lights will blink when done.

This little guy is a lot of fun it does have headless mode which any beginner will need. The directions are a little confusing but with trial and error you can figure it out pretty easily. It is a little fragile as mine only worked for a few days it was my first drone and I definitely ran it into the wall many times. If I was more careful I think it would have lasted much longer.

Great for the child that desperately wants a drone, but you don't want to put the hundreds of dollars in just to watch them get stuck in a tree, fly away, crash, etc. When they say mini, they mean mini. The drone and the remote can fit in the palm of your hand - at the same time. :) I bought these for all of my nieces and nephews this year and they were the hit of the season.
