This drone is perfect for the beginner. As someone new to flying drones, crashing it was a regular occurrence and it takes a beating well. I ordered several parts for this, which I highly recommend for all new flyers. Extra batteries, propellers, legs, and propeller guards will all be beneficial for any beginner. The body has not sustained any damage thus far, but these other parts do not fair as well. Flight is still easily accomplished when the other parts are damaged. The battery lasts anywhere from 7 - 10 minutes based on flying conditions and type of flying done. The camera is a decent camera and provides decent video and photos. That being said, two areas that are in need of improvement are the instructions, as they are very limited, and adding a return to home feature. I recently lost this drone, and this was a forgone conclusion after I had been flying it for a month. The controls and instructions for flying are limited, and determining a problem with the controls is difficult. One example is that on numerous occasions, my drone would get airborne and I was able to control it for a limited amount of time. The main problem was that I never could get it back to my position, or remotely close. I just lost it recently because no matter how I moved the controls, it would never make any change in course to come back toward me. It just kept going away and away and away until it was gone. This is not an expensive drone to replace, but as other reviewers have stated, the controller is more like a toy, than a sophisticated piece of equipment. It looks out of place when compared to the drone. A feature to have the drone return to home is desperately needed for this product. All in all, the drone is great for beginners, it withstands beginner usage, and has a decent camera. The instructions are limited and your best best is to look online for how to fly. This is defineitely worth the price, but be sure to buy the other parts as you wil, need them if you are learning. Be careful with flight as well, since my drone felt like it had a mind of its own on many occasions.

I would recommend this drone as a trainer especially if you plan to invest in a high end drone. It can stand some pretty hard crash landings without major damage but it's range is limited. Repair parts are readily available to keep you in the air until you master your pilot skills. I didn't give it five stars because the camera leaves much to be desired.

Great drone to learn with. READ the instructions prior to flight, and always fly in an open field with plenty of space when first learning. Similar size to a DJI phantom. I purchased this and paired it with a DB Power sj4000 knock of cam. Works well. Unfortuanately the Syma I received had one of the motors burn out in mid flight, and it plummeted 100 to the ground. It landed in the grass, yet nothing broke. I was unable to fly it again, because that one particular motor would spin, heat up, smoke, and quit--therefore making it impossible to fly. I have sent it back to amazon due to faulty, damaged item. Waiting for refund--will update when that process follows thru. Otherwise, great drone to practice and learn with, prior to dishing out hundreds of dollars for a high end Dji phantom or such model. Even though my first drone burnt out a rotor motor, I ended up still ordering a 2nd one. Taking a chance again, i guess you can say? You can order new rotor motors for this model online for about $7. If mine burns out again, I will just order a new motor and install myself (its simply a plastic male/female plug switch). Would recommend to those getting into flying quadcopter!

I love this quad and think it's very good, however if you buy it, be sure to make sure the screws that hold the motors in are tightened properly before you fly it. I had mine flying for all of 5 minutes when a screw came loose and damaged the gear, so now I have to order a repair kit to fix it.

I took an FCC certified fat shark camera and transmitter and fit it inside of the little camera shell. I connected the power to the balance lead on the battery, and use this quadcopter for a perfect DIY FPV experience. This quad copter is large and everybody points to it thinking it's one of the most expensive nicest quad copters in my collection. The range is great and I never have any brownouts. If you like large and loud, this is the way to go. I had to take a star off for the silly looking radio controller and the sub-part camera, which I hollowed out and replaced with the video TX/cam. The photo compares the size of the syma to a common nano quadcopter.

Love the quad! my only complaint is the stock battery that came with it does not seem to last more than 1 minute on full charge. im not sure if they all have this issue but i contacted the customer service rep. and they sent me a new battery in replace of the faulty one. hopefully this fixes the issue. great purchase overall!

This has been a fun, solid little machine for the price. I would recommend this to someone who has a little bit of quad flying experience first. My only gripes are the camera is pretty bad quality, which I took off right away and mounted my GoPro instead. The other is that it tends to get "confused" when in headless mode. I just learned not to rely on that at all because the directions you push on the stick don't dictate the direction it should go. Minus those 2 things and you have a quadcopter that carry a GoPro or other camera for $90. I've put prolly 30-40 batteries through this thing, its hit the ground HARD a few times, and it still has the original props on it. Its like a flying tank and that's why it gets 5 stars.

A vey impressive large quad! I flew it in a mild wind and it held up! As a beginner, I appreciate the steady hover and relatively slower speeds. Don't get me wrong, this thing is fast from my perspective! Once again, speaking from the perspective of a beginner, the camera is fun and good enough. If you're looking to film anything other than recreationally, get a different camera, it will carry it. It is very solid too! I crashed it into a tree and it dropped about 20 feet to the grass and showed very little wear. New parts are cheap and readily available. This is worth the money and I would recommend it over the x5c if your are looking for an outdoor quad. Although I have not flown the x5c I have done extensive research and think this is the better choice. Also, the flips are amazing and headless mode and the second speed add new levels of difficulty to continue to practice and challenge yourself with. Highly recommend!

This was my first actual drone I began using. I know sounds crazy I stepped up to get a big quad. But I was interested in the use of strapping a GoPro to it. I have a GoPro hero 4. Which I bought a specialized mount for it to attach under where the crappy stock camera goes! This drone is very stable for video if you can pull it off! I also bought wider landing gear so that they wouldn't show up in the video if I were to use the wider lense options on the GoPro.

Fun to fly. Wanted to buy a drone to learn to fly manually before I move onto a more expensive model with more bells and whistles. Crashed a few times and still gets up and goes. Haven't even broken a prop. My only real complaint is the camera. It does not work consistently. Huge disappointment. Camera quality is very low and lots of jello in the video footage, but knew that going in. Batteries take a loooong time to charge. Buy a few if you want to fly for more than 8-10 minutes at a time.

Definitely a tough quad. I've crashed it multiple times at full throttle and only replaced one prop. Don't get discouraged if the trim is off after a crash you will be able to bring it to a stable hover with just a few adjustments. This is my first quad and I've flown it hard and tried to test it and I'm very pleased, haven't even used the headless mode yet although I'm sure its great. Get at least three batteries and you can fly for 45 minutes plus it takes a little time to trim it after major crashes 😂. I even gave this quad 5 stars and the camera won't hardly work but I didnt buy it for the camera I bought it for the size and stability. You have to control this drone the whole time your flying there's no gps or return to home which will teach you how to stay better oriented while your flying. It will fly high enough and far enough to get out of sight, not a good choice, but that's the range it has. The power of the quad is great I taped a cell phone, in it's case, to the quad to video and it flew perfectly fine although when the batteries get low its time to land don't run them all the way down. Buy it fly it crash it!!!!
