The battery plug that is used 2 or 3 cell is for balancing and to answer your question, Yes it will balance 2 and 3 cell batteries. I still have my 2 charges and are used to balance my 3 cell batteries, they are still working fine. To this date I'm still happy with the charger for what it is.

I would check the voltages of each cell with a tester. Try another battery to see if the issue continues.

I use it to charge 3300mah batteries and it works fine. I would think it would charge 5000mah batteries just fine but it will be a little slow because of the low charge rate of these charger's. It's better for the batteries to charge slow anyway.

Yes. A 3s battery is 11.1 volts. Fully charged it will be around 12.6 volts or 4.2v per cell. This charger will charge it.

I don't have or charged 4000mah battery's, I think this charger would work may take some time to charge up your battery. I do have to say you probably spent some good money for that 4000mah battery and I'm thinking you have several of these battery's. I would invest in a better charger to safe guard your investment. There is no guaranty with any charger or battery but my thinking is if the battery is expensive you may want to get a better charger and have some more bells and whistles that this charger doesn't offer. This charge has been working fine for me charging 1100 and 2200mah battery's. Thx, see less
