That depends. I’d you have the VXL brushless system then no probably not, you will get similar performance. But if you have another brushless system or brushed system that is putting out a higher KV, then this motor will probably give your vehicle more torque and possible a higher top speed. The 2600kv is Awesome for the price! I swapped this for a ten shock 4400kv that was clogging at low speed and sounding rough. This 2600kv is much smoother, plenty of power and probably 3/4 of the top end speed. A+ so far! I'm running a traxxas 2wd rustler with trenches, a 14T pinion and 54T spur, 5000mah, 20c 2 cell lipo and a Ten Shock ESC.
