First of all, I have to say I was really disappointed how slow this thing was with a 1s lipo. I owned the original RTF model and after going into Betaflight and changing the flight profile from 1 to 3 the little thing ripped for a 1s. It was quick, while, could turn on a dime and that was just factory. I don't know what quad all the reviewer's were flying but I definitely remember more than 1 of them saying that 1s ripped and 2s was almost too fast. Wow! No wonder these guys get free quads. Lol. 2nd problem, I get major blackouts right in the middle of flight. My 2nd day out I almost lost it 3 times. I basically had to just buzz around my head for 3 minutes. I mean the first Tinyhawk had great video and really pretty decent range. So with the "S" I was pumped for even better video and range, more speed and boy have I been duped! I bought all kinds of batteries, top hat for the camera, l.e.d.'s for the frame, an extra frame, which I sanded down and then custom Painted it with a tri tone flip black to hold metallic paint job. So, I guess it's time to operate....? Any ideas on how to fix this puppy and turn it into a BEAST?! I have a 200mw Switchable VTX I could add? I have an EOS2 Caddx. I was thinking about going with an xt30 but I have all these 1s batteries...? Maybe I should do a little double PH 2.0 set up like the Mobula 7?? Then I could add an adapter and run xt30's but then am I just bottle necking the juice anyway?? I have to say both quads do fly very nice. Anyone just getting started I would definitely say either would be a great first fpv quad! I keep telling my wife even she could fly it..lol. Well, any advice would greatly be appreciated!!! Ty

I am a fan of emax. I have many of their products and I've had good experiences with their customer support when I've had issues. The problem I have with this model is as soon as you crash it you're going to knock the camera loose. That seriously annoyed me. I ended up having to buy a 3d printed holder in order to fix the issue. Also the angle of the camera is not adjustable and It's set pretty high. I can get used to that but if you're flying indoors (which is why I purchased this) I found it a to be a bit too high. Secondly the camera quality itself is lacking, its flyable in daylight but I had problems with some white out when I had to turn the lights on in the house. The 25 MW vtx has a tendency to break up a little a little lacking if you're flying in a multi-story building. The other thing to note is EMax should update their pictures. You will receive a 2 port charger not a 3 port. Not a 'huge' deal but your media should match what is received. Stock flight times on the 1s I get about 3.5 to 4 minutes depending of course on how aggressive I'm flying. I have not flown on the 2s -- waiting for spring.

This thing is super stable, at least on 1s, I haven't flown it on 2s yet. Great flying in the house or outside on calm days! I use Betaflight to configure it with my Taranis X9D, and setup was fairly straight forward and simple. With stock 1s battery I get almost 5 minutes flight time. I noticed after about 3 minutes voltage drop was noticeable, so I turned on VBAT PID in betaflight to help correct flight characteristics as voltage drops. Very durable and Turtle mode very cool! OSD is VERY customizable through Betaflight. If I were to suggest just one drone as a first time drone, the Emax Tiny Hawk would be it!

I love the Tinyhawk S! I've started flying FPV quadcopters in May and instantly got hooked. Now that winter is here and it's hard to fly outside for long without freezing, the Tinyhawk is great because I can fly inside without worrying about breaking something. It's pretty quick and powerful if you push it, but it's also small, light, and controllable to easily fly in small spaces. I work overnight in a retail store and fly it through the aisle and the shelves on my lunch! And it's taken many crashes with no damage. Plus it's running Betaflight and fully configurable to get it to fly exactly how you want it to. I wish the VTX was a little more powerful than 25mw, since it really hurts the range. The built in FrSky RX isn't the best either, however it supports SBUS if you want to wire in an external RX. But even stock, I'm more than satisfied with it and I fly it every day!

So much fun. Bought for both indoor fun and teaching my 6 year old to fly a quad. This little bird is great for both. I gave this a 5 star for beginner but please know this is a racing/freestyle quad. If you have no experience or if you don't know what I am talking about go check out a Parrot Mambo.
