Can two phones control one plug?

  • of course, After you group your accessories in a home, you can invite other people to share control of these accessories. People need to sign in to iCloud to accept the invitation. If you create the home, you're the administrator. People you invite are shared users.

Does this have a dimmer function, like I've seen on some other products, or just on/off? Thanks.

This is a poorly designed item or at least the App is. Very unclear how to set on and off times. I would not recommend buying this. There are better outlet controls, like the Smartlife mini smart plug.

At first, I was a bit skeptical given the plug blocks the other outlet, and the several reviews claiming it simply doesn't work out of the box. I couldn't find this to be further from the truth from my experience. I didn't even read the directions and 10 minutes after opening it was connected to my Christmas tree, in my home app, and responding to Siri commands. "Can you turn the tree off Siri?...Can you turn the tree on Siri?"...works every time. Also, not sure why all the criticism for the app. It is very simple and intuitive. I can set multiple timers, so the tree is on when I wake up and turns off before work. Another shuts it off before bed in case I forget. Additionally, the scenes are pretty fun to play with as well. Additionally, there are rules you can set for certain days, etc. It is pretty comprehensive in my opinion. As with any smart device, you have to be somewhat tech literate. If you can't get it to work, you may just be doing something wrong. Be sure not to inappropriately blame the device though. Like I said, I connected it to my wifi, scanned the code, spent a few minutes in the app, and thats all. Note: The only thing I am not crazy about is the audible click. Additionally, the timer has been slipping lately as much as 5-10 minutes. I am not sure if this is attributable to the plug or not. I am reviewing the iHome ISP8 switch in a few weeks.

We bought this as a means to pop our home automation cherry. This plug is as I expected, pretty damn cool. It's like a clap on clap off, but voice controlled. I've been asking Siri to turn on and off the lights for about 30 minutes because it's so awesome. The wife believes it is unnecessary, I however know for a fact that once most of the house has automated lighting, she will love it. I plan on buying switches next. Pro Tip: if your device is not being found, hold the button on top until it starts to flash green. Happy with the purchase and its potential uses in the future! Buy it, try it, keep it, and integrate it with your lifestyle!

Home automation is the new thing that everyone is striving for. I am a tech person, but I haven't really seen the need for it. I figures that I would grab a smart plug and see if I really wanted to dive in to home automation. This Koogeek Smart Plug is awesome. I live in an old house and in summer we have to use window units to cool the bedrooms. Being the great parents that we are, we gave our kids the new A/C's that you can set a temperature on and we kept the old style with the coolness on a 1-10 scale. I have this set up on our old A/C so I can turn it on 45 minutes or so before we head to bed and have the room be comfortable for us right away. The setup is way easy because it is part of the apple homekit. I mentioned before that I am kind of a techie so I decided that the instructions didn't need to be read. While the instructions are only a few steps, you should read them. Once I got the correct apps downloaded it was way easy to just plug in the numbers from the box and everything started working. Like a child, I played with it seeing how quickly I could get it to click on and off with the app. I will say, there is almost zero delay. I am shocked that anything that operates through wireless is that quick, it is as quick as pressing a light switch on a wall. It is truly amazing.

This is one of the best smart plug I have used. The only con is this supports 2.4GHz only. The iOS app is also good. Highly recommended.

I bought this in February '17. I saw that reviews seemed reasonably positive compared to the other Homekit switches on the market and the price was reasonable. There was a sale and I purchased it. I set it up quite easily using Apple's Home app. Turn on, turn off, it works. Within minutes, though, it stopped working. I tried resetting the device and had significant problems reconnecting it. That might have been just because it was disconnecting shortly after setup. I gave up for a while and found that if I unplugged it from the wall and then plugged it back in, it would work for a little bit. I was using the latest firmware at the time. I contacted customer support and they gave me several instructions relating to my router and connecting on 2.4GHz, not 5GHz, but I knew that didn't have an issue with that and I already had tried resetting a few times. It was showing up as being connected through my router so I determined that the product was faulty. I was not going to reset my Homekit profile. I had a dozen Homekit devices and there should be no need to reset them all. It was their device. I was just about ready to return it. So you are probably wondering why I gave this device 4 stars. and not 1. Well, I figured out how to solve my disconnection issues and it has been working flawlessly the past 4 months. The price is good and I would give it 5 stars if it didn't block both outlets. SOLUTION: Assign the plug a static IP address. You need the MAC address on the back of the plug and put that into your router. That is it. I did that (not because support told me, tried it on my own) and I haven't had a problem since. I can't guarantee it will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Good luck.

EASY!! FAST and Satisfying little click. This works super good. I cannot believe how fast it turns on an off the product. I use it for a Living Room Lamp, the set up was so easy. I think some reviews are unfair so ill give some tips. Having a good, reliable Wifi Router is recommended. If you have allot of other devices in your home. The Cheaper your router, the possibility of having issues with any product will happen. The only thing i would love to see in the future if possible if to have Compatible with ( Ifttt ) , that would make this a killer.

this is my first smart outlet and I have to say that thing is the bees knees. This thing is really cool. So far i only got it to work while at home using the app and Siri but it works flawlessly once you add the device to the app. I'm not sure if you need to stay on wifi or not for it to work but It works with my fan, a lamp and my Xbox one so far I can't wait to try it on other things! You can use this thing to turn on as a timer on a certain time. i like that I can get multiple of these around and have them turn on a lamp or two through my app and Siri. I would definitely get this again! I highly recommend it. You don't even need to be tech savvy to learn how to use this thing it's really easy to use and user friendly which I really like.

I just received the Koogeek smart plug. It was really easy to installl and setup. Just keep in mind that it uses 2.4GHz Wifi. I set up the smart plug to my living room lamp and added an automation schedule,(real easy) using the Apple Home App. Voice control is automatically enabled via Siri. Please see the video I posted that shows the commands to Siri for on/off control. Definitely a part worth to have in the house to enable voice control and automated on/off of appliances and lights.

This is probably the cheapest HomeKit compatible smart outlet I could find, so I was worried at first about the quality. After using it for a few days, though, those worries are history. This outlet does everything you'd expect it to, and does it well. I downloaded the Koogeek app, but there really isn't any need to use it if you're using the Home app on iOS. You can set schedules and control the outlet on demand using the app, Control Center, and Siri. The one thing I do like about the Koogeek app, however, is the ability to see actual power consumption and trends, which is something the built-in iOS app doesn't do. I'm only taking a star off because this single outlet essentially renders the second outlet in the receptacle all but useless. I figured only a grounded/three-prong plug wouldn't fit below this, but even a standard Apple iPhone charger brick won't fit right. It'll be tilted slightly, and the prongs exposed, which could be a fire hazard. This looks like a common issue among all these smart outlets, so I don't think it's unique to this Koogeek model, but that's something I wish smart outlet manufacturers would be more aware of. It's not a huge deal since my air conditioner plug already took up both outlets, but if I wanted to plug a smaller lamp or other device in here, I'm essentially sacrificing two outlets to use this. Just note, this outlet requires a 2.4GHz wireless network. I had my router only broadcasting a 5GHz network, so it took some troubleshooting to figure out why this wouldn't pair with my phone. I did notice afterwards when searching through the product page on Amazon, it does state 5GHz is not supported.

I am really enjoying my WiFi Smart Plug that I got from Koogeek. We hooked it up to a light in my son's bedroom. He often has his headphones one and "doesn't hear" us calling for him and "doesn't hear" his phone getting our texts. With this awesome plug, we have plugged in a table lamp that sits right on his desk. Now when he is not answering us, I can turn the light on and off to get his attention, and there is no way he can deny knowing that we are needing him. Although this is the way we use this one. I am looking forward to getting more because this would work wonderfully to turn off and on lights, appliances, fans, and more. All of the Koogeek products can be used withing the same app. You can set the app up so that you can just click the button, so it does what you want. For example if you want it to shut certain things off because you are going to sleep, it will shut it all off!!! This is sooo cool. We are getting so very close to having the smart homes like we have seen in futuristic TV shows and movies. I also love that I can talk to Siri and have her do it for me! Please check out the video my husband made and I uploaded for more information.

This little device works well for what I wanted to do. I had a curio cabinet in my dining room, which I'd like to turn on easily without having to dig for the plug behind the cabinet and flick the little switch. Now with this little device, I can turn on and off my curio cabinet with ease. Now I can even say to Siri on my phone, "Turn on the Cocktail Cabinet" and the light instantly turns on. Setup is easy. Plug the device into the wall and the second e of the logo on front starts blinking green meaning it is waiting to connect. On your phone, download the Koogeek Home app. (You can create a login to have an account or you can simply skip it. On the App, you click the + button and you should see this plug show up in the list. Select it and then with the phone camera, scan the device code (or type it in) and it will be added to your Apple HomeKit list of devices. I like the app as it also shows all my other HomeKit devices inside. If I hold press on this plug device, I can go into "detail" and see what my power usage has been per day and month. Also set up timers. There's one caveat I want to mention. The device only works on your 2.4 Ghz wifi channel. It will not connect with the 5 Ghz wifi channel. I use both, which I assume most who are running a 5 Ghz channel also run a 2.4 Ghz as there are definite benefits to having both and many devices that cannot use 5 Ghz. My phones normally use 5 Ghz so at first I was wondering why I couldn't set up this device until I realized this. I simply connected my mobile phone to my 2.4 Ghz wifi and then tried again and it added this little device without a hitch. Then I switched my mobile phone back to the 5 Ghz channel and it still works. Fantastic! You only need your phone on 2.4 Ghz for setting up this device so it talks on the correct channel to your wifi router and then you can switch back. Like others have mentioned and I show in my photos, if you put this into your bottom jack, it will cover the ground on the top jack of your outlet. Where I'm using this, that doesn't bother me and I have a photo showing you can still use the top jack if you're using a plug without ground.

Wow, this plug was so easy to set up, and works perfectly! I had previously ordered an ihome plug, and ended up returning it after spending several hours trying to set it up and get it working....it kept losing connection. When I ordered this one, it only took me five minutes to get it working, so I was pleasantly surprised. I use it for a lamp. I have an iPhone, iPad, and my wife has an iPhone. After plugging this one in and downloading the app, it immediately paired with my iPhone, and I found it also worked with my iPad. I did run into some trouble getting my wife's iPhone to work with it, but that was because I mistakenly thought I had to also download the Koogeek app onto her phone too. I discovered that downloading the Koogeek app onto her phone as well as mine somehow blocked her from receiving the "invitation" that I sent to add her phone. After deleting the app from her phone, everything was fine. Now on my phone I can operate the lamp from my Koogeek app or from my Home app (HomeKit). My wife can operate it from her Home app. Siri works well with it too. And I find that my Apple Watch makes it even simpler to operate. I can just raise my watch, say "Hey, Siri, turn on the lamp" and it immediately turns on. How convenient! Yep, I do love this smart plug....might even order another one to use on another lamp.

Simple to set-up, simple to use, fantastically futuristic. It works with the iOS 10 beta if you set it up with an iOS 9 device first. I might be picking up a few more of these in the future given how cheap they are!

Easily paired. Works as it should. I will purchase more. I had purchased two previously and was a little nervous based on some reviews about adding again. I am glad to say the added (third module) has worked easily and perfectly. No mystery drop offs, I have gone through at least 2 iOS updates. I will say my whole system is apple (time machine capsule and repeater) and home kit. I have been really careful about that. I do have Philips lights on a HUE APP but they work with home kit (just not as much color option). I just wonder if that is somehow part of the issue others have raised. I am well pleased and I consider myself a finicky consumer.

It works well. The app is clean and simple with a lot of options for timing the outlet. Design of the product is very clean and sleek. It's also smaller than I was expecting which is nice. The footprint of the item could have been designed a little better. With the prongs centered on the back it just barely blocks the other plug. If you place it on the bottom you can still plug in a cord that doesn't use a ground. I bought it as a timer for the grow lights on my succulents so it's nice to be able to map out individual days on a weekly or repeating basis. Set up only took a few minutes. Very simple. It immediately showed up in my home App and after naming the outlet I could tell Siri to "Turn off/on plant lights" and it worked like a charm. You do need an iPad or Apple TV to act as an in home hub if you want to control your switches when you're away from home, which is a bummer. But I'm not usually wanting to turn things on and off when I'm out anyway.

The smart plug from Koogeek arrived packed in a nice box 2 days earlier than expected. I was very excited to receive it and tested the same day. The plug itself has nothing fancy just 1 button and 1 LED light which is On when connected to a power source. The smart thing is an app and ability to apply its features using wi-fi the way you need or want. I plan to install it on my TV section that include DVD player, audio center, TV, printer, and some other items connected to the same power source. Once I am off the TV all I need to do is take my iPhone and say "turn off TV" and all section will be turned off. The app is easy to install and is simple enough to use. You can set time frames, sections, areas, rooms to control and you can see the power consumption per each plug. Overall, my experience with the Koogeen smart plug is been great, I will recommend this product. See the video how the smart plug is packed, how does it feel and look, and see a small test made with a lamp.

Installation was very easy. After downloading the Koogeek app, you simply go into your phone's wifi settings and connect the Koogeek plugs from there, and then it automatically connects to your home wifi after that. In the Koogeek Home app, I was able to add my other HomeKit devices like the Lyric Round thermostat, which I couldn't get to work with Siri until I added it to the Koogeek Home App. Devices were listed in the app, organized by room and zone with a virtual power switch beside each item. Even the hue lights were listed and controllable. And I was immediately able to see the live power consumption of my air conditioners in the app, and was able to turn them on and off easily. I tried Siri "Turn off Air Conditioner Upstairs" and literally just as I finished the sentence the air conditioner turned off; there was no delay or confusion about it. There's also a button on top of the smartplug itself that lets you turn them on and off without the app. I really like Koogeek smart plugs.

This is a super cool smart plug, I'll share with you my experience while testing this product. Number one we always have our phone near or next to us, and being able to control lights or anything that plugs into an electrical socket is awesome in my books. It worked great as you see in the video, Siri in my testing actually adapted to my voice saying extras like please etc, it might take you a few times before Siri will pick up exactly what you're saying but after that it worked great every time. As seen in the video the app didn't even need to be open for Siri to work that is awesome at anytime you just ask Siri for this or that. Now my only problem is I need more of these for all my electronics. Overall it's a great smart plug that does what it says it does, I didn't test the app to much so I'll leave that up to other reviewers for testing the app. I got this sample for Free to make an unbiased review, so that I could provide my best evaluation. I hope my comments and video will help you make an informed decision cbenzy
