I bought this in February '17. I saw that reviews seemed reasonably positive compared to the other Homekit switches on the market and the price was reasonable. There was a sale and I purchased it. I set it up quite easily using Apple's Home app. Turn on, turn off, it works. Within minutes, though, it stopped working. I tried resetting the device and had significant problems reconnecting it. That might have been just because it was disconnecting shortly after setup. I gave up for a while and found that if I unplugged it from the wall and then plugged it back in, it would work for a little bit. I was using the latest firmware at the time. I contacted customer support and they gave me several instructions relating to my router and connecting on 2.4GHz, not 5GHz, but I knew that didn't have an issue with that and I already had tried resetting a few times. It was showing up as being connected through my router so I determined that the product was faulty. I was not going to reset my Homekit profile. I had a dozen Homekit devices and there should be no need to reset them all. It was their device. I was just about ready to return it. So you are probably wondering why I gave this device 4 stars. and not 1. Well, I figured out how to solve my disconnection issues and it has been working flawlessly the past 4 months. The price is good and I would give it 5 stars if it didn't block both outlets. SOLUTION: Assign the plug a static IP address. You need the MAC address on the back of the plug and put that into your router. That is it. I did that (not because support told me, tried it on my own) and I haven't had a problem since. I can't guarantee it will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Good luck.

Works great. I’m using an iPad as a home hub and it works awesome. Even when I’m away from home. The automation is great. I use it to turn off an air purifier in my bed room before my alarm goes off so I don’t over sleep. Already ordered another one.

Works great, just as described. Easy to set up on iPhone, however.... (Note: code number on package did not match code number discovered by WiFi on iPhone. But, it still connected and worked to hook up to WiFi. Ignore the number and just complete the set up.)

I was looking for something to automate me turning the bedroom lamp on and off that also worked with Apple's Homekit. This power plug was very easy to set up. I first plugged it into a 3 prong wall outlet. Then I downloaded the Koogeek app. The app is very well designed and looks almost like Apple built it themselves. From there, you click the + icon to add a new device. Then the app lets you scan in the serial number on either the socket or in the instruction manual. After a few seconds, it's paired up! After that you can plug in anything into the 3 prong Koogeek socket. So I plugged my lamp in it and kept the lamp's power on. Now I can turn it on and off using the Koogeek app or Apple's Home app. I can also program it to turn on at a certain time when I wake up and I can set it to turn off when I leave the house. I'll have to think of other items I want automated so I can buy some more.

Easy set up and works perfectly with Homekit. Plug it in, wait until the light blinks, and scan it into Home app. Nothing else much to say about it.

Pros: Easy (no experience with smart devices) to operate Stylish design (white goes with all decor) App simplicity (able to name each devices location, all devices sync to app for ease of use) Cons: Price point if setting up a large home with multiple devices

This was my first wifi socket. Got a couple of these to automatically turn on the living room lights when the sun sets. Installation and pairing with Apple iPhone took a few minutes and then a few minutes to set up the auto on/off schedules. Works like a charm. I didn't need to download and install the koogeek app.

Easy setup via the Home app - working flawlessly! One minor complain the plugs are big and might be an issue fitting in tight places.

Works as expected, but the website and instructions could use some work - for example, I couldn’t remember my password, so a reset should be simple, right? Well it took me about 30 minutes to reset since sometimes the error messages would pop up in Chinese (I believe), or it would just kick you back to the home page with no indication of success or failure. These are fairly minor, but still take from the experience. Otherwise, the product works great.

Works exactly as advertised. I have a lamp plugged in and it works instantly, weather thru Siri, Control Center, the Homekit app or the Koogeek app. I have it set to a 'scene' with the Koogeek lightbulb in another location and they work very well together. I've tried multiple times with wifi off on my phone, and have never had issue, so I assume that it works well when I'm away from my home network. I have not tried Alexa integration though, or plugging anything else into it.

So it took me a while to get the outlet to sync with my phone & wifi. But it eventually worked! It's the 1st smart plug I've ever owned and it's pretty awesome! My husband is constantly falling asleep on the couch, & he forgets to turn off the tv! It really annoys me so now when I wake up and hear the tv, all I have to do is click it off on my phone!

Setup is easy. Works reliably. There is an audible click when it switches, which is a little bit annoying when you're close enough.

Finally got around to replacing 30-year-old X10 home-automation hardware, and couldn't be happier with the results. These outlets are totally botch proof - if you're just smart enough to install an app and plug in a light or small appliance. Love them.

I love it. I am using this with HomeKit to turn my low voltage landscape lighting on/off on a schedule, plus I can turn it on/off at will as well. I had a small issue with wifi, as the lighting transformer box is a solid stainless steel box, essentially a faraday cage (not at all the fault of the plug). But I made a simple passive repeater with 2 antennas that allows signal in to the box and it's all working awesome!

This is actually a great smart plug. I normally don't like smart devices because it is hard to install or some other factor however this was EASY! Plugged into the way and my iPhone was able to detect it. Love it and now I tell SIRI to turn my lights on and off.
