Is this for convenience? Is it a security device? It's both! Its a simple plug. As a matter of fact, it resembles typical charge blocks for portable devices. It plugs into a standard home outlet, one with the third ground prong, then provides an outlet for whatever device you want to control. To operate, simply download the Koogeek app from the App store and input the code provided for this particular plug. Plug your device into the plug, open the app, and press one icon to turn your device on or off remotely. I was impressed that the code to use was attached, via stickers, to the inside of the box, the instructions, AND on the plug itself. So long after throwing out the box and instructions, you'll still have the code available. Why would you need this? * illuminate a dark hallway before you get there * Have light in your home when you return to it after dark. * Have a welcoming light in your bedroom when you get there before bed * Control lights when you are out of town, to create the impression that someone is home. * Turn on portable AC remotely so room will be cool upon arrival. One complaint that has been voiced regarding this product is that it is large and blocks the second outlet. As you can see from my pics, when in use, a standard (smaller) plug can be used at the same time. Another concern I had when I was looking for this... it seems to be more expensive than others. But NOTE: The Smart Plugs that were lower in price were for use with Alexa. THIS plug is for use with Siri. There are very few Smart Plugs available that work with Siri, and this one is at the best price. Be careful to order the right plug. My only real complaint isn't with the product itself. The instructions seem as it they were printed in size 6 font or smaller. As you can see from my picture, there is enough space in the instruction booklet to accommodate a larger font, so I don't understand why the print is so tiny. Hey, Koogeek, try font size 10! This is actually a very simple device, it works very well and is a smart addition to the home. (Okay, maybe I'm still a kid, I get a kick out of clicking my light on and off remotely. Whoopie!!) For convenience or safety, this Koogeek Smart Plug is a smart buy.

I finally joined the future, or present as it may be by getting my first homekit device; the Koogeek smart plug. I have had a positive experience overall with it and I would recommend it for anyone looking to step into smart plugs. Here are my thoughts in a bit more detail: +++ Great package. I love opening new things and this actually was a pleasant experience. The actual smart plug is not cheaply made and has a premium feel to it. --- I did not like the fact that the plug covered the second outlet so I could use both outlets. It is a bit too bulky and this can be an inconvenience. -++ The setup was okay. My phone (iPhone 6S) had trouble finding the device so I had to reset the Smart Plug. Secondly, it only supports 2.4Ghz wifi network, which is a bummer because my iPhone, Apple TV 4, and iPad were all connected to my 5Ghz network and all had to be migrated to the 2.4Ghz network to work with the plug. +++ I had to download an app to manage my plug and the app itself is great app. No crashes and works the way you would expect it to work. I ended up using the Home app more but still both are great apps. +++ Once I got it set up, it worked wonderfully. The shortcut in control center on my phone is perfect as I don't have to unlock my phone to control the device. +++ I plugged in my bedroom lamp into the plug and the homekit integration with Siri works flawlessly. I am able to turn on the light without having to get up when it is dark and also when going to bed. You can also enable control when you are away from home but must have an Apple TV or iPad set up as a hub and also must have two factor authentication set up with Apple. +++ Overall, I have enjoyed the plug. I recommend it if you are looking to have some control over a few things wirelessly. Good product: 4/5.

It has worked each and every time! I love the fact that I can ask Siri to turn on/off any appliance I connect to this smart plug. Using this thing is pretty intuitive, you don't need much experience with gadgets to have this up and running. If you have the latest ios update you will also see the devices you have plugged in inside the "favorite accessories" window on your iphone. Simply swipe up from the home screen, then swipe right and you will see this shortcut. The KoogeekHome app has been great too, you're able to set "moods" and all kinds of custom rules.

this is my first smart outlet and I have to say that thing is the bees knees. This thing is really cool. So far i only got it to work while at home using the app and Siri but it works flawlessly once you add the device to the app. I'm not sure if you need to stay on wifi or not for it to work but It works with my fan, a lamp and my Xbox one so far I can't wait to try it on other things! You can use this thing to turn on as a timer on a certain time. i like that I can get multiple of these around and have them turn on a lamp or two through my app and Siri. I would definitely get this again! I highly recommend it. You don't even need to be tech savvy to learn how to use this thing it's really easy to use and user friendly which I really like.

This little device works well for what I wanted to do. I had a curio cabinet in my dining room, which I'd like to turn on easily without having to dig for the plug behind the cabinet and flick the little switch. Now with this little device, I can turn on and off my curio cabinet with ease. Now I can even say to Siri on my phone, "Turn on the Cocktail Cabinet" and the light instantly turns on. Setup is easy. Plug the device into the wall and the second e of the logo on front starts blinking green meaning it is waiting to connect. On your phone, download the Koogeek Home app. (You can create a login to have an account or you can simply skip it. On the App, you click the + button and you should see this plug show up in the list. Select it and then with the phone camera, scan the device code (or type it in) and it will be added to your Apple HomeKit list of devices. I like the app as it also shows all my other HomeKit devices inside. If I hold press on this plug device, I can go into "detail" and see what my power usage has been per day and month. Also set up timers. There's one caveat I want to mention. The device only works on your 2.4 Ghz wifi channel. It will not connect with the 5 Ghz wifi channel. I use both, which I assume most who are running a 5 Ghz channel also run a 2.4 Ghz as there are definite benefits to having both and many devices that cannot use 5 Ghz. My phones normally use 5 Ghz so at first I was wondering why I couldn't set up this device until I realized this. I simply connected my mobile phone to my 2.4 Ghz wifi and then tried again and it added this little device without a hitch. Then I switched my mobile phone back to the 5 Ghz channel and it still works. Fantastic! You only need your phone on 2.4 Ghz for setting up this device so it talks on the correct channel to your wifi router and then you can switch back. Like others have mentioned and I show in my photos, if you put this into your bottom jack, it will cover the ground on the top jack of your outlet. Where I'm using this, that doesn't bother me and I have a photo showing you can still use the top jack if you're using a plug without ground.

This is a great quality smart plug. Worth to be mentioned that this gadget has an input voltage of only 120 volts and a standard US plug. Device was neatly packed in a small, white, beautiful box. Smart plug assembled very well and tightly. During operation it glows nice. The software application for iOS is good, from with it you can control the gadget ànd its features. This is possible only through the local Wi-Fi network. Turning the power on and off occurs reliably and with a specific click. In general, the gadget is good and it works, it does its main job well.

Review of Koogeek Smart Plug, WiFi, for Apple HomeKit with Siri, Electronics Controller on 2.4Ghz Network The Koogeek Smart plug sets up in about 5 minutes. Just plug in the smart plug into standard AC outlet that you would like to operate on and off. Download the Koogeek app called Home from the app store and register if you do not already have an account. Once the app is installed, allow it to work with the Apple Home Kit. When you plug in the smart plug into an outlet it will flash green. Open home kit and add device. You can scan the QC code that is with the instructions booklet and once it completes the add you will see an app icon with the smart plug device. You are now ready to plug something in the smart plug and turn it off and on via the home kit app. By touching the app you toggle the on and off which switches the smart plug on and off. In our case we used the MacBook Pro charging cord to turn on and off. It works great to be able to control a switch from the bed or lazy chair.

Easy to set up and program with the Home app. My iPhone 7 Plus was having issues with the Koogeek app itself, but the Home app on the Apple phone Home screen works with this WiFi switch. I was able to integrate both my Koogeek products (I have a light switch in my garage Koogeek Smart WiFi Light Switch for Apple HomeKit with Siri Remote Light Control Switch on 2.4Ghz Network No Hub Required Single Pole) and this smart plus switch, into a scene and have it set to come on when I turn my scene entitled "Arrive Home" on. I used my iPad mini as a hub (you need a 4th generation Apple TV otherwise and I think ours is gen 3) and as long as it is powered on and on the home WiFi network you can have it on this switch and be turned on/off with the button within the app itself or with a "Hey Siri" command. ***FYI this switch will work with any device you want on or off as LONG AS IT HAS A MANUAL SWITCH/BUTTON that has to be turned or depressed. For example, if your electric fan has a beeping button with a green light, and you pressing the button has it switching between high, medium, low, or off modes, and the lights on the fan move around as you press this button, THIS SWITCH WILL NOT DO WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO. Simple on/off devices is what it is meant for. Maybe you want to have your crockpot come on at a certain time, you can program the switch to come on at that time, and the crockpot dial will already be in the temperature position waiting to go when the switch becomes active. Then the WiFi switch will allow the crockpot to come on and heat up your food. Setting this Smart WiFi Plug up correctly and quickly the first time around- The way to get this set up the fastest IF you are using a hub, and the Apple Home app is: 1) Set the hub itself up- I had to go into my Settings on my iPad (make sure it is connected to the WiFi) and in the left column scroll down and select Home. 2) Turn on "Use this iPad as a Home Hub". 3) Open Home on your Hub Device. 4) Add each Koogeek device under "Add Accessory" within the Home App using its own number identifier, printed within the instruction manual itself. 5) Then, once system tests out the connection, you can invite the Apple IDs (as emails) to use the network, and all those devices are automatically set up too. 6) You can create scenes (switch combos you want on and/or off at the same time). You can automate the items to come on at certain times if you wish, under the Automation setting. Pretty cool, if you ask me. :) ***(If you create any Home on/off setups on your own phone, THEN decide you want a hub, you have to reset everything and add it again on the main hub first, then invite your phone with Apple ID, spouse's phone with Apple ID, etc). I have attached some photos (showing how it fits/looks, etc.) and a video of showing how it works. I did order the black unit so it stands out more. It does not 100% block the second outlet- you are still able to use the top one, just a two-prong plus, not a grounded plug since there is not enough room for the grounded portion of the top plug. (I think it's actually best to install this Koogeek Unit into the bottom of the two outlet choices.) 5 stars, hand down, and extra cool in a scene with multiple items on/off at once (like if you are out of town, arriving home in the dark, waking up, going to sleep, etc) and extra stars for being able to add this to a network AND control it from being away from home with ANY internet service. :)

The Koogeek WiFi outlet switch is a great first step into home automation. When you plug a device into it, it will allow you to control it via a free app that is available for iOS devices. You can be at home or anywhere in the world and control the outlet as long as you have an internet connection. Since it supports Apple HomeKit, you can even control it via Siri with your voice or with a swipe down from the top of your phone which saves a lot of time versus having to unlock the phone and open up the app. Setup is very simple. You just download the app, find the outlet device, and then enter your wireless credentials. The outlet will connect to whatever wireless network your phone is currently on, so if you have a 5GHz network make sure to connect to the 2.4GHz one first (this device does not support 5GHz networks). That's all there is to it and you can then begin turning your outlet on or off. Response time is very quick, at around a second or so. I like how you can also schedule the outlet to turn on or off at certain times, or even certain days. Overall, this is a great product that works very well and is extremely easy to setup. This product was provided as a sample for my review. These opinions are solely mine and are unbiased and honest and not influenced in any way by the seller.

This is going to sound weird but I love this little device. It is so neat to be able to use Siri with it. Right now I have a lamp plugged into it. My husband came home and wondered what I had plugged in the wall outlet. I said, “Watch this” and told Siri to turn on the lamp and she did it. He thought it was pretty cool as did I. Honestly the possibilities are endless as to what you could do with this smart plug but personally I wouldn’t recommend plugging anything too expensive into it as it is not a surge protector. It was super easy to setup. Be sure to download the “Koogeek Home” app from the app store. It took less than five minutes to get it set up and useable after installing the app and registering. Be sure to not through away the instruction manual as it has a code that you need inside of it. There is a way to set up a “scene” inside the app. When setting up a scene you can program one or more of these smart plugs to activate or turn things off just by saying a command like “I’m leaving” to Siri. For example. if you had three of these plugs and had a lamp, a radio, and a coffee maker plugged into them, you could add all three of them to the “I’m home” scene. When you tell Siri “I’m home” she will turn all three of them on for you (or off if that is how you programmed it). You could have coffee brewing, soft music playing, and a lamp to see by when you walk through the door. A reverse situation might be that you were running late and forgot to turn off the coffee maker, you could tell Siri “Turn off the coffee maker (if that is how you programmed it) or have her shut off all three if you programmed the scene “I’m leaving”. You can also change the scene names. If you prefer “Rise and Shine” to “Good Morning” or instead of “Good Night” you would rather say “The night is dark and full of terrors,” you can change it to whatever you like. You can also ‘invite’ people in the ‘User management settings’ so that they can control the devices as well from their phones. This comes in handy if you would like other members of your family be able to control the items as well. The invitees only need to have an iCloud account to be invited. One last thing, you can monitor energy consumption through the app as well. Whatever you have plugged into the smart plug will show the wattage usage so you can see just how energy efficient certain items are and how they may affect your energy bill. All in all I could play with this smart plug all day. It is really cool. Disclaimer: This product was provided to me either free or at a discounted rate for reviewing purposes. I am not affiliated with this company and make no promises of a good rating while reviewing the product. I test the product thoroughly and do my best to provide detailed reviews to other Amazon customers so they may make informed decisions.

The smart plug from Koogeek arrived packed in a nice box 2 days earlier than expected. I was very excited to receive it and tested the same day. The plug itself has nothing fancy just 1 button and 1 LED light which is On when connected to a power source. The smart thing is an app and ability to apply its features using wi-fi the way you need or want. I plan to install it on my TV section that include DVD player, audio center, TV, printer, and some other items connected to the same power source. Once I am off the TV all I need to do is take my iPhone and say "turn off TV" and all section will be turned off. The app is easy to install and is simple enough to use. You can set time frames, sections, areas, rooms to control and you can see the power consumption per each plug. Overall, my experience with the Koogeen smart plug is been great, I will recommend this product. See the video how the smart plug is packed, how does it feel and look, and see a small test made with a lamp.

Really easy to use and set up. I had to reset my plug but if you do it according to the instructions it will not take long. Check out my video to see how responsive it is with the app. The device itself is slick light weight and does not block the other plug depening on your outlet. So keep that in mind. The app that runs the plug is easy to set up and seems pretty intuitive. Honestly I wish I had the need for more just so I could set them up all over the house. The majority of my time controlling it with my phone I have used the koogeek app. I do recommend this one!

Koogeek Smart Plug works flawlessly with a quick setup! This little plug has been a huge help in our home! My husband and I both work from home and our offices are in the basement. We have several computers set up with many electronics going at the same time. Recently, one of our teenage daughters has been sneaking into our offices to get online and chat with boys. We have resorted to shutting the internet down every night to prevent this but at times we do forget. With the help of this little plug, along with Siri, even if we do forget, we simply ask Siri to turn it off. With a home of over 6,000 square feet and three levels, this has come in handy a few times already. Especially when it is late and we are too exhausted to walk to the basement to turn it off. Set up couldn't have been easier. I had this up and working in under two minutes. The longest amount of time was reading the instructions that were included but not a complete necessity. I made sure my phone was connected to the correct network (a 2.4ghz) and the same one I would be using for the plug, waited for the plug to flash its lights, and opened the Koogeek Home app that I had downloaded and it instantly saw the plug. That was it! We plugged it into the outlet and then plugged our modem into this plug. I tested it while standing there the first time and it worked perfectly. You can choose to use the Koogeek Home app to turn it off or you can just ask Siri to do it. Either way worked flawlessly for us. With the Koogeek app, you can even set up different scenes which allow you to set up multiple products to be commanded using one scene. Or you can create a schedule for it to run at certain times. It also monitors your energy consumption which is a nice addition if you have ever wondered which electronic is using the most energy. This is also compatible with the Apple HomeKit so you have several choices to manage this device. I am more than happy with this plug and plan to purchase several more to use around our home! I cannot recommend it enough!

I’ve been using wifi outlets since last few years but this is first time I’ve used an outlet which has integration with Apple home kit. Now I can command Siri to turn environment for living room on and off remotely. You will need to install an free application “Koogeek” in order it to be detected by Happy Home Kit. You can also create scenes if you have multiple of these products. Setup is quiet easy. It just works out of the box. I was able to set this up in two minutes without even reading the instruction booklet. Personally, I am using it with my glass closet and a lamp in my living room. Best part I like about this I can command Siri to turn it on/off for me. The outlet is not bulky like other available in market and seems like made with quality material. It is light weight and easy to install. You can easily control, monitor and even schedule devices within the range of home wifi network. It also has a manual button on outlet itself in case network is not available or not working. Positives: - Neat and Easy Setup - Works flawless - Accepts Siri Commands - Works with Apple Home Kit - Small Size & not bulky - Comes with 18 month warranty - Made with quality material. Negatives: - None I could see so far Improvement needed - Works only with 2.5Ghz wifi network, 5.0Ghz is not supported Although 5.0Ghz wifi speed is not supported by this outlet, but most modems support multiple speeds and provides you capability to generate two different home networks with different ranges. I highly recommend buying this if you are looking for one.

This is a 2.4Ghz WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) smart plug that's compatible with Apple's HomeKit home automation application and Siri. Like most other smart plugs out there, this one can control whatever is plugged into it via custom schedules, timers, Apple's Siri, the HomeKit app, and Koogeek's own app. I prefer using HomeKit when possible and was leery of the third party app. Imagine my surprise when I downloaded it and discovered a well designed, usable mobile application! Its primary use is to set up the smart plug, but it can also be used to create scenes, set timers, monitor energy consumption, and get a detailed breakdown of how much power, on average, is being used. Setup was super easy and I had this plug up and running within a matter of minutes. Bravo, Koolgeek, for making it so painless. My only real complaint is the size. It's about the as big as the older, mammoth sized WeMo plugs. The only difference being that this one might allow a small size plug above or below it. Overall, this is a pretty decent device and should be considered a stepping stone into the world of home automation. Full disclosure: I received this item either for free or at a discounted price in exchange for a fair, honest, and non-biased review. I pride myself on writing non-biased reviews and I really don't care if I got the item I'm reviewing for free or not. If it sucks I'm going to tell you that it sucks. Thankfully, in this case, it doesn't. :-)

This smart plug from Koogeek is great! I have tried the bulb socket and the smart light switch from Koogeek and they worked like a charm so I decided to buy this smart plug. The smart plug is really convenient to control electronic devices other than lights. I have used this to control my TV but you could pretty much use this with anything that requires to be plugged in the wall. It is really convenient and extremely easy to set up via the Koogeek app. Once you added the item it will show up in your Home App in your iPhone or iPad. Excellent product and much cheaper than other smart plugs on the market.

It works well. The app is clean and simple with a lot of options for timing the outlet. Design of the product is very clean and sleek. It's also smaller than I was expecting which is nice. The footprint of the item could have been designed a little better. With the prongs centered on the back it just barely blocks the other plug. If you place it on the bottom you can still plug in a cord that doesn't use a ground. I bought it as a timer for the grow lights on my succulents so it's nice to be able to map out individual days on a weekly or repeating basis. Set up only took a few minutes. Very simple. It immediately showed up in my home App and after naming the outlet I could tell Siri to "Turn off/on plant lights" and it worked like a charm. You do need an iPad or Apple TV to act as an in home hub if you want to control your switches when you're away from home, which is a bummer. But I'm not usually wanting to turn things on and off when I'm out anyway.
