that is exactly why I purchased the unit. It did reset my window regulator screw up on a 2001 330i, so I am assuming it would work for your car as well. Hope that helps

It says this in item description: Models available for BMW built between 1994 and 2003. So I would assume only those models.

My impression is that if you had a dirty contact in a seat belt buckle that could turn the warning light on. Then if you cleaned the contact and used the tool to reset the light ( turn off the warning light off). Worked on my 2001 Z3. However, it would give me the E error code when using the ODB connector inside the car. I had to connect it with the circular adaptor under the hood. You also have to run through the error codes before it will let you erase them. I already knew why my airbag light was on and tried to go straight to the erase feature and it didn't work. After I went through the fault codes and then tried to erase them, the airbag light went out. Definitely worth the $15 to get rid of the annoying SRS light.

This is a simple, inexpensive tool that does what it's supposed to do, and what I needed it to do - reset my airbag light. The buttons could be better, but for infrequent use, they work well enough. My original intent was to use it to reset the airbag light on my 1995 M3 (250000+ miles) after I debugged the root cause and attempted a fix. Fortunately, the light reset after my first attempt, so no debug effort was started. I was surprised by this, as the dealer had attempted to reset the light on two different occasions after I had pulled the steering wheel airbag to replace the upper bearing.
