Very robust power strip. The biggest impression makes the 3x1.5mm2 cable that is well prepared for the load it may need to carry. Rated power of this beast is 3250 W with maximum input of 13 A. USB output is also impressive. It gives 2.4 A for each USB ports. The socket is obviously fused with 13 A fuse. Cable is approximately 145 cm long. The socket junction is 26 x 12 x 3 cm and has ventilation openings on the underside. It has been manufactured in March 2017. It is equipped with power switch. It would be good to have LED indicator when it is on as well to cover low light situations. It has over-current protection, short circuit protection and overheating protection and conforms to BS 1365 standard which refers to fire resistant tests for loadbearing elements. The sockets do not accept anything but 3 pin plugs. It also has CE and RoHS certifications and in case someone tried to get inside it, it was put together using 7 tamperproof (rare) triangle bolts, which did not stop me. The manufacturer provided short instruction manual written in good English. Something to improve would be replacing inside welding with connectors and soldering on AC to DC converter could have been better. Also position of the screw holding the PCB is not ideal. I know it's meant for a guitar. I know it's right in the name. I know you're probably going to use it on a guitar, and so why should anything I have to say matter, right? Well, it probably doesn't, but this is the internet and I'm going to say it anyway. I used this piezo mic and preamp to amplify a tibetan singing bowl. I wanted a preamp that would not cause a high frequency feedback loop, and would retain a good amount of bass and depth from the mic. In these regards the GT-5 was very good. I had a bit of volume loss issues when I ran it through two effects pedals, but still enough to get the job done. I was glad that it retained a good clarity of sound, but I needed a pedal for extra reverb. The onboard reverb is pretty good, but it definitely loses a lot of the bass. I imagine it would be better on a guitar. The chorus effect is kind of subtle, at least I found it so, but gave a good little vibrato.

I ordered this acoustic guitar preamp system to install in one of my guitars. I was pleased with the product's rating and the price, so I decided to buy it. Since I have installed preamp systems like this before, I was aware of the fact that it might not come with a good guide or a template to cut out the hole with. As I had suspected, this kit did not come with one either. I had to make all the careful measurements and alignments myself, which took a while. Besides that, it sounded great once I completed the installation and I was pleased with the quality and the various sound options available on it.

Not bad. The effects are decent. The only thing I would change is to add a blend control. I like a long reverb tail but only a slight to moderate presence in the mix. On this the effects are all wet. To compensate for this, and to use it with things other than an acoustic guitar, I mounted this preamp in a plastic box. I have a 1/4 inch jack connected to a 2.5 mm plug which goes to the preamp. This basically turns this into something resembling a guitar effects pedal without the footswitch. This can either be patched into an effects loop or placed directly in the signal chain between your instrument and amp or mixer. I have an acoustic guitar amp with a vocal input that sounds horrid. I plugged a mic into this preamp and then to the mic input on the amp and it sounds a lot better after tweaking the EQ and adding just a little of the wide effect. The only problem I've had so far is there is a slight pulsing noise and I think it may have something to do with the pots that control the effects. <<

So far, I like it. I am not giving it 5 stars as it looks a bit plasticky and bulky (luckily, mine goes hidden behind a sofa). The switch is not soft and you need to apply a bit of pressure to switch it from connected to disconnected. I have charged my iPhone once and the USB seems to work fine. I found the holes in the back for wall mounting a bit difficult to understand. I had to ask how they work in here, to work it out. I simply do not understand why it doesn't come with normal holes where screws hook into. Apart from that, time will say, but in general I am happy with it.

I received this product at a discount and was asked to test it. I must say at this point I spend on average about £10k a year on products. I do NOT need freebies and if I get sent a S**t item it gets an aggressive review. I get a whole plethora of invitations each week and I only accept products for review if I have experience of them or have an interest. I enjoy giving reviews and helping others. So far I am very impressed. I must say I like the minimal packaging. I hate all that waste! It is a very clean design and the cable and connections are heavy duty. I love that it has an on / off switch. This is very useful and innovative. But what would make that better is a small LED to show when power is on. These are often hidden is dark places. The manufacturer should consider adding two more USB connections to the next design. Everything I buy these days is USB powered - so it is the way forward. It is 2M but 4M would be much much better. This would cost very little to implement. I am a bit confused about some of the negative reviews about this product. I have had no experience of overheating. The only slight issue I have had is that the USB connections are very tight. It takes a little force to remove a connection... hopefully this will dissipate with usage. But in a way I prefer it that way. I will use this in a circumstance where accessories are powered from this permanently. I have a wall socket which is loose as hell and its bloody annoying! Update: after much testing this seems to be inadequate for ipad charging for some reason. Whilst just using safari my battery level went down. Conversely this is maintaining charge on several other devices such as bluetooth speakers with ease. Its still a good bit of bit but disppointingly it doesnt provide the umph to charge my ipad. I have dropped a star off it accordingly
