Is there any way to wire in a volume pot between the pickup and the jack?

A

  • Yes, just cut the wire, it is a two wire, one is the shield and hook it to a volume pot then to the output jack plug. You are just splicing in a volume control.

What is the piezo actual length and what is the wire length?

  • The piezo part on mine is about 70mm, (or about 2 3/4 inches), the cable part is approx. 290mm (about 11.5 inches). It requires a hole that is 15mm across (7.5mm radius), and the wood has to be less than 30mm thick for the main plug to be able to tighten down properly. These things are amazing really. I am using mine on a Mountain Dulcimer... it sounds great- nice full range, easy to install, and they are waaaaaayy cheaper than the specialized pickups made specifically for the Dulcimer.
