There are the small holes for the strings but they were not in the right spot for me and I drilled new ones closer to the peg handles. It should be pointed out that the location of these type of holes will need to differ greatly depending on how big the peg holes in the scroll are. If the holes have been reamed out considerably then the holes may need to be closer to the peg handles. Putting in new holes should be an elementary thing to do for almost anyone with a drill and some common sense. A nice peg reamer would be a good investment if you intend to play violins for a number of years. While you would rarely use it just a few times over the years it would certainly pay for itself nonetheless. see less
