Q

reviews are confusing, is this a paper chart that can be placed vertically on the keyboard of a standard piano for reference, or is it stickers?

A
  • No, it's just to "practice" piano when one doesn't have a piano because, for example, is traveling

YES! Almost every key sitting on it's ledger line high and low. Fantastic for quick reference without counting up and down the ledger lines to fingure out more difficult notes. Not for beginners because beginners are not going to be in those more advanced areas of the piano. I deducted a couple of points because there are areas that are very faint in color compared to others. The upper keys are bright whereas the lower keys are much dimmer and this harder to see. But if you know your keyboard, it is a very nice tool. Taping it up on the wall above the top of the piano is very helpful to intermediate students who can also get a quick eye to hand memory of what those very high and very low notes look like on the staff lines. But you have to stand up to see the low notes because of the lack of brightness. Took a point off as well for it being a plastic that does not want to lay flat and needs a bit of coercing (lotsa tape) to stay on my wall. Mostly GREAT.

This product was exactly what I expected. I am teaching a group music class an age of 6-10 and 11-15 years old with little to no music experience. With such a large age span they aren't easy classes. Since I don't have a piano this is helpful to see where the notes are. They are having a hard time grasping the very early basics. We only have music once a week so we do a lot of reviewing each week. It would be helpful to have a book that shows different ways to use it.
