Try bringing the gain To 0 and play with the tone see if that improves your sound
By Carlos Miranda on February 28, 2018
I would probably go in front of the OD. It's up to you to try both places and see which is better. There's really no rules for pedals. It's all your ears and the tone you want.

there is a difference. vol ped, wah wah, eq/noisegate/over drive, distortion ped, tremelo ped, chorus/flange/phasor, compressor

Yes, the "plexi" name came from the older Marshall amps that had a gold plastic front. Made to sound like a Marshall amp cranked up.

This pedal is made of steel/metal and is built well and is plexi sounding . And is better than some plexi pedals 3-4 times the mon$y .

It does have that '60s vibe "plexi" sound and I think I'll use it for blues and some rock, but it doesn't have the balls for anything more. For the price, it is still a good pedal, quiet and very well made. It is probably a good pedal for solid-state players that want that warm tube sound.

So i like this Joyo Pedal, sounds great has a nice crunchy Marshall tone, colors my tone nicely, i use this has more of a overdrive than a stand alone distortion pedal..Its alright its not a high gain or metal pedal, i would recommend the pocket metal and us dream first, i own both and love those but this one is a keeper..worth the money..

I reserve the 5 star rating due to the dependability of the switch although I have been demoing this pedal for only a short time. Other than that it is a fun pedal with a smooth plexi overdrive breakup and sustain. If you watch the on-line demo video it will demonstrate the variety of sounds to be dialed in really well. For the money Joyo pedals seem to deliver a good product. I have an Joyo California Sound (white pedal) and have used it on a regular basis in my pedal board for nearly a year and it works flawlessly. This one is now mounted in the pedal board and will be used like all the others are.

This thing sounds awesome. Van Halen, Ozzy, 80s sound in a box. Connect to decent sounding, warm clean channel with a 4x12 cab (the cab is an essential part of this kind of Marshall sound - you don't get it from a 1x12 open back really), and you are set. This is more of a boosted plexi sound, 80s version of a plexi. Ignore the description mentioning Duane..、So yeah, it works for me, sounds great. If my opinion changes, I'll update. I'm pretty picky about my tone, and this I just like. Sounded a lot better than the demos I heard, I guess because I have a pretty warm amp and it really gels with my 4x12.

I really like this pedal. It sounds great. Not too much, just right. Sounds vintage to me like early Black Sabbath or Judas Priest. I like the way it makes my SG sound and it really sustains for a long time. Playing it through 5 watt Kustom Defender head and cabinet so nice old vintage tube sound. Good price and great value for the money. Can't go wrong for $30. This one will be on my main effects board for a long time. Well constructed. Retro look with rounded edges. Just coolio daddio! I have a lot of Joyo pedals and I have really enjoyed most of them, this is a good one. A keeper.
