I used this DI at church where we have no amp on stage and in-ears as monitors, so for my electric guitar going from my pedalboard to the PA with a Radial DI I was ok, so I decided to give the Joyo DI a try, I got my first one did some AB comparisons on my Mac using Logic Pro X, I was able to tell the diff, big time!!,(I didnt like the combo, I think is 2x12, but shines in 4x12) so that moment I ordered my second, since my rig is split in two, kind of stereo, but basically having one signal split in 2 I needed 2 of this. for $35 I'm pretty satisfied

This is actually my first DI box, but I've read a lot about different models and have listened to different audio samples, so I think I have a pretty good idea of where this one stands. I was impressed by this box. So far I've only tested it on a Roland keyboard amp, so I'm not sure what noise will be like through a PA, but the tone is amazing.

At this time there is only one other review for this item so I thought I'd throw out my two cents: I just got this DI and have used it a couple times. It shipped with a battery, so I used that. It does come with a 9v jack, my assumption is that will work fine too. Also, I didn't insert between amp and speaker yet, my purpose called for using the line in and XLR out only. The cab or 4x12 switch works fine, I set mine for the cab (open back) option because I wanted a little brighter sound. In addition to using this on my Boss MultiFX pedal, I did and A/B using this and not using this with another guitarists Line6 MFX pedal.

This works great for what I use it for in my setup. I run a pod into my amps FX unit (only uses cabinet and power amp). My band uses in ears so its hard to hear my live stage volume, so I just pop this in between our headphone mixer and an out from my pod and it gives me a decent cab signal. It's perfect since I'm literally the only person that will hear this signal, so no point in spending more than $40

Tried a bunch of direct boxes with speaker emulation (EQ that creates a response similar to a speaker). None sounded better than an SM57 in "the sweet" spot. Sure modern Impulse Responses duplicate mic/speaker combos exactly. But they are not plug and play. And are expensive. Some friends use the Behringer Ultra G. I A/B tested against this and hands down this is better. I ran my tube head into this and connected my cab. Ran the mic cable from this to a channel in my mixer. Simple. Soloing the miked channel and this direct channel I was surprised that this sounds far better. Boosted the lows +3- 6db to give it a close miked low end bump and that's it. Very satisfied I tried this product. Bye bye mic.
