A 3V button cell.
It could work, but it would be a pretty deep cutout. The mounting surface has a bit of a curve to it as well.

Control/tuner is 2" wide x 1 1/2" long x 1" deep. Input/pre-amp is 1 1/8 wide x 1 1/4" long x 1 1/2 deep.

Positive up. It would not operate if you install them upside down.

No, the one I purchased did not have a template. You will need to measure the body of the pre-amp that fits inside the guitar, and cut accordingly. There is about 1/8" area around the cut for the faceplate to attach to the guitar body. Same goes for the jack plate.

The equalizer/tuner portion is designed to be installed on the curved part of a standard uke. I'm not sure it will fit totally flush but it should be close. The neoprene gasket that is provided should fill in any small gaps. Hope this helps.

Not sure exactly but it fit under the bridge of my concert ukulele just fine.

Yes it should. I have installed six so far in my cigar box ukuleles with no complaints.

Place the tab on the inside wall of the uke and tie wrap the wires to it to keep them from rattling inside. There are several YouTube videos on installing similar devices in guitars and ukes. Suggest you watch them.

The unit is a very good price product. The frequency response is flat and very accurate. The frequency of three pots is smooth and provides adequate control for coloring with good tones. The tuner looks very accurate and easy to use. The preamp provides enough output to control most amplifiers. There are some disadvantages. First, absolutely no explanation, you are accepting. However, once installed, the unit is easy to operate. The installation is simple, but be careful not to cut the holes too much. Once the holes are cut to the required size, there is not enough space to install the screws. If I want to install another one, I will first make a paper or cardboard template to make sure the hole size is very accurate. The unit uses two batteries (not included). This is the second question: as far as I can see, the device cannot be turned off once the battery is installed. It remains to be seen the battery life. Removing the battery seems to be the only way to turn it off. All units seem to work well and are the perfect size for ukulele.

This pick-up and tuner combo is great! The battery lasts forever. So fast to tune and start playing. I wish it came with a template and instructions, but I figured it out without messing anything up. (Glad too, because my uke was a bit expensive). Oh! Just remember, measure 3 times, trace, measure again... THEN drill the 4 corners inside your lines. Use a dremel, thin coping saw, or file to gently widen the opening. The wood of your uke is so thin so DON'T use a jigsaw or you run the risk off cracking the wood in the area of installation. Just take your time and enjoy your wired uke!
