I think they are 500k as I had 500s in it previously and the sound is still bright. The 250s mellow the highs, I didn't experience that with it. Sounds a lot better with a humbucker installed. I had just 3 singles before.

Best I remember the black was ground . White was hot. To be sure look at the back of your knobs.. pots. The ground is saudered to the outside backs of the knobs ..switches what ever you may call them.

White one is hot. One closest to white is electrical ground. Other is body ground. Good place to mount body ground is under bridge screw because it is too hard to reconnect to wire in body.

On mine the red wire went thru to the back and was soldered on to the springs for a ground and the white wire was the main signal wire to the jack. I can't remember if there was a bare shield wire for the signal ground or if I had to provide that but obviously you'll need to run a ground from the jack as well. Should be able to do an 'internal strat wiring' image search to clear up where they all go. The main wiring is already done for you so all you need to do is connect to the jack and attach the extra ground. see less

They were the same size of the Squire I installed the new setup in. I do not recommend to buy this product. The quality of the pickups are not as good as the Squire pickups and the pickguard holes do not line up. the pots and switches function properly and I actually like them more than the original parts.

It is a 5-way selector, which allows in the 4th position to utilize the middle single coil pickup and one coil off the bridge humbucker..so yes...
