Okay- I was hoping for a rat distortion copy. This is kind of that to my ears but not a part for part exact copy. The good: it sounds sort of like a rat pedal for really cheap. It’s small and has two modes accessed via a tiny toggle switch. It powers no problem off of a generic 9 volt power supply. The bad: doesn’t exactly sound like a rat pedal to me. It’s kind of a cross between an old DOD distortion and a rat. The filter control on this pedal doesn’t seem to behave like the filter control on a rat. At far left/ counter-clockwise the sound virtually disappears. In a rat the sound becomes very mid- heavy. The pedals volume output was significantly lower than my kokko distortion I was comparing it to. I had to really crank this pedal to match it. Verdict: it’s ok. At this price give it a shot- why not?

I bought this thinking it would record what i played and replay it so I could play a different part over it, that's not what it does, it takes a pedal that doesn't have true bypass, and gives a direct passage through the pedal you want to bypass. In other words, it's an easy mistake to make if you don't know what a loop box is.

Good pedal. Turbo setting has a lot more volume boost than vintage. Does a decent job of mimicing a rat. Good price. Switches and knobs feel sturdy and well made. LED is too bright and sometimes you can't even see the knob setting when it's turned on. But nothing to complain about. I painted the top of the LED with nail polish to be reduce the glare. Whatever works! Cheers!
