This is my second Matchbox DI Box (the first through Amazon). It has become an important part of my musical effects chain (placed at the beginning of the line). This is the "configure and forget" element. I always set my configuration to + 20db with the cockpit simulator activated. Additional cleaning gain cleans the generally weaker preamp section of guitar amplifiers and lower gain portable devices. Enhanced low gain acoustic guitar pickups are particularly useful. On the electric guitar, to maximize the sound quality, I lowered the volume knob on the TV station's guitar by half or less to use the clear gain of this device + 20db gain. When I use the Epiphone SG Special, I prefer to set this DI frame to + 0db with the cockpit simulator off.
