I recorded a guitar with this directly into a typical io device (steinberg ur22), and then into the computer. on playback of the raw 'wav' (flac), i couldn't hear much of anything different except for a sort of 'compression'. However, once it was run through a high-gain ampsim, it really sounded like a jcm800. the contrast was clear, side by side with a track which had also been recorded direct and 'ampsim'd' with identical settings, but without this pedal in the chain during the recording part. It sounds like a pretty good way to get an 'instant jcm800 sound'. To me that means kind of 'filtered' instead of 'open' like a jcm900. It ris reminiscent of a 'wah' pedal in a fixed position; a sort of 'filtering' that happens on jcm800s. Anyway, listening to the JCM pedaled track side by side with the non-pedaled track, it really sounded to these ears like a good jcm800 emulation. ymmv
