The lens magnifies in a central position within a central circle. Unfortunately, it is not particularly functional and effective for my mother because it does not enlarge sufficiently. One of the two support feet lowers continuously and does not remain locked in its housing.

The lens in the middle is plastic, don't think it's glass. Turning it upside down, in the middle of one of the longer sides, you can see two stops that keep the feet closed, they are small and difficult to move, if the person who will use it has big fingers or arthritis will be simpler (but uncomfortable) always keep them open. You must also put two drains, not supplied. A disadvantage of this lens is that to read, if you are at a table, you have to be right above it, since the feet, all having the same length, do not have a natural inclination towards the reader, I fear that this position after a while causes backache. For unsupported use, on the other hand, the cord must be shortened to the appropriate size, I would recommend making a knot, in order to have the possibility at a later time to be able to adjust it if it is too short or too long. The idea of this product is good, but the quality does not drive you crazy, it can be greatly improved.
