Use espresso ground coffee! I have read through these reviews and it seems to me like a lot of people are trying to use regular ground coffee, and that just will not work in this product. I literally packed some pre-ground espresso with the provided spoon, and made a perfect foamy shot on the first try. Strong and just the same as the regular pods. I dont understand the negative reviews, just use espresso grounds and dont pack it in too tight. You will be good to go. TIP: It will be hot when you grab it out of the used pod catcher, just run it under the cold sink water and it cools off instantly. Back to back espresso shots in under 3 minutes!!

I bought one each of the small and large Blusea refillable coffee pods and both have exceeded my expectations. I recommend them for anybody who already has a Nespresso machine and is looking for a relatively easy way to make quality coffee or espresso without spending $$$ on disposable pods. Small Pod: This pod has been exactly what I have been looking for since I got my Nespresso machine. If you don't already have a Nespresso machine, you might be better off just getting a normal espresso maker since this is basically the same amount of effort. The difference is I can still have the convenience of normal disposable pods if I am in a hurry. The coffee is pretty much indistinguishable for me compared to the Nespresso pods - it makes thick, rich espresso and perfect crema. The bar code on the bottom of the capsule automatically tells the machine to use just enough water to make one shot. The key to making this work correctly is to pack in finely ground beans - get pre-ground espresso or use a burr grinder on the fine (or extra fine) setting and pack it in - you will want at least 4 scoops - and you will want to use a 40 mm diameter tamper or at least press it in with the bottom of the included scoop. Large Pod: The large pod is now my go-to for my morning cup of coffee. It makes a strong cup with LOTS of crema (see pics). Like the small pod, the key to getting this to work correctly is to pack in lots of coffee - you will want 4-5 scoops of finely ground coffee or espresso beans and tamp it down with a 40mm tamper or at least use the bottom of the included scoop. The tops are labelled as small or large so you don't have to worry about mixing them up. Also, they do not fit each other, so you can't use the top portion (with the bar code) of the small pod with the bottom portion of the large pod (it fits more coffee grounds) even if you wanted to. Both pods fit just the right amount of coffee for their intended size anyways so this is probably for the best. Both of these pods have made me happier than ever with my Nespresso machine purchase. I still get the convenience of disposable pods when I want to use them (which is not often anymore) but I can also cheaply make quality coffee (way, way better than any Keurig could produce) with minimal effort.

Work great, but may take some experimentation to find the right grind, grounds amount and tamp pressure. I found (similar to my other espresso machine) that you have to find the right process to get a good cup of coffee. I found that two level scoops of espresso (fine powder grind) grind with a very light tamp (maybe 1 pount) provides a smoother fresher cup that I was getting with the pods. If you put in to much (two heaping scoops) and tamp to hard (maybe 5 pounds) you will get a very small amount of coffee and the machine kicks into high RPM mode very quickly. This is not an issue with the design of the pod, if you want to have a re-usable pod then you have to expect to be able to have a consistent process for the machine to make a consistent cup of coffee like any other non-automatic espresso machine. I am really glad I bought this and would recommend it for sure, but know what making a good cup of espresso takes and find the "recipe" that works for you.

The Nespresso pods are expensive, and they choose the coffee flavors for you. This item pays for itself after about 20 uses, and it will last longer than you will, solidly made of stainless steel. My main objection to Nespresso is the cost and having to deal with sending back pods for recycling. But it’s the lack of coffee choice that move me to buy this item, and I’m very glad I did. It does take about five minutes to use this. But I like to choose my own coffee, so the little extra time is worth it. I tried reusing the Nespresso pods with an aluminum cover, but that took quite a bit of time and was much more messy. So if you want to save some money and get to choose what coffee you buy, you should probably try this.

I ordered the small 70ml pod for my Virtuoline. My preferred coffee volume would be what Nespresso offers in the 7.7oz capsules so I wanted to replicate that with this reusable pod. I put the pod into the machine to see what volume comes out per the barcode - it’s the equivalent of the smallest espresso shot pods. You can program the machine to use a custom amount of water per barcode by inserting the capsule, locking, and holding the flow button down until desired amount is reached. Every time you use the pod henceforth will have this custom water/coffee volume. I filled the pod with my regular folgers coffee grounds and put it in and made a cup to see what would happen. I was still skeptical but it made the perfect amount I’d just set, and it was just the right strength for coffee flavor. Not watery, not overly bold. Going to keep this product and hopefully it will continue to make the perfect cup of coffee every day!

I don't like paying $.80 - 1$ each for a drip of coffee from a vertuoline expresso pod. I bought this double espresso size reusable pod. I believe some of the bad reviews stem from the fact that people are confused about what size pod they bought. This is not designed to produce a full size cup of coffee. It actually works. I tried it with regular and fine grind. Both worked but there was less froth with the fine grind so its not worth the extra effort to get a fine grind. Things to watch for... the directions indicate you can use a brush to open the holes in the cap to clean between uses. Your really have to rinse the cap and visually check the holes to assure they are open. Also, don't overfill or overpack the grinds these two issues caused my machine to fault and produced less coffee. The only other issue is my machine has an automatic function that dumps the used pods. That will cause this heavy metal pod to slam into the catch bin and possibly crack it. I elected to remove the catch basin and catch the pod as it exited which led me to play hot potato with the pod so be prepared for that.

I bought some silicone tops but none of them produced crema, this does and is worth the extra money. Shipped from China but still received it in 1-2 weeks even now. As others have noted this is only for espresso, but with Lavazza super crema beans produces a doppio worth of the Nespresso pod.

I use this product regularly using my favorite ground coffee. It is sized to make espresso which is a little over an ounce. Flavor is good but probably a little short of what you would expect for espresso. I run it through three times cleaning and filling with fresh coffee each time and love it but you are working for it. Cleaning is pretty easy but refilling can be a bit messy as you want to shoe horn as much coffee as possible inside.

Unfortunately, I was only able to succeed in making weak coffee. I have tried different grounds, different grinding consistencies “course to fine” and different amounts of coffee grinds. Nothing seems to give me the same result of the one time use pods. I searched for videos and tutorials to help me and found no resolution.

Coffee came out watery; nowhere near expresso; even more watery than Americano.

I ordered this to be used for coffee. It is sized for an espresso, not for a full coffee cup.

Nice little pod! I’ve only had it for a week, but the brand of espresso I like isn’t Nespresso brand, so I’m glad there is something available for me to use my machine with my own coffee. It does get hot afterwards, meaning you have to let it cool before you clean it. I plan on getting a couple more so I can pull more than one espresso shot at a time

At $1/capsule for nespressonpiss, this pays for itself in about a week’s worth of coffee. I recommend buying several so you can avoid the expense if nespresso pods always

I use this everyday no problems with cafe bustelo espresso but bought one as a gift for a friend who ground their own beans and found out that if you ground the coffee too fine it would plug it. There is a little rubber gasket that I lost the first day but it still works fine without it.

It’s really easy to use, just let it cool before you touch it right after you make coffee. It doesn’t make a huge cup but it’s the perfect amount for a cappuccino. Which is what I wanted so I’m happy.

Works great for a short cup or small pod but not large enough to equal the larger pods

I decided to purchase even I read some bad reviews. I'm glad I did it. It does work. Don't forget to reset your Nespresso machine if you want a full cup of coffee. I got my SS Capsule reset for 6 ozs. Read the manual and enjoy your coffee.
