I bought this gas detector because we are all too tired. In the past, there was a gas leak in the furnace and a leak in the basement dryer valve. Keep in mind that sometimes it may be a leak in the furnace and/or a connection to the gas line. And dryer and/or connection. It can be used after installing the battery. So I checked all the areas and there was nothing...none showed gas. Great, but how can I be sure that it is working...so I turned on the stove and turned it on with the detector turned off and then it went out...because you will always release some raw gas ,odor. I also went to a friend's house, and she didn't notice that I did smell the air leak from her stove. I want the best, but I can’t afford the best...means some are made for people who use natural gas. Wait, but this gadget is useful to me. This is what I need. Everyone should have 1 week because a gas leak can happen at any time. I now check once a month unless I suspect a gas leak. It is convenient, simple and effective.

Its reading is digital, starting from 0. No adjustments; the item description must be copied from other devices. Turn it on, it will slowly click at zero o'clock, will make a high-pitched scream when you find a leak, or will lower the general nearby pitch when you get closer. The digital reading helps to identify areas of high concentration, and there is a delay of a few seconds before the reading stabilizes or the alarm sounds. This uses three AA batteries and has a longer battery life than cheap batteries that use AAA. The blade seems to be thrown into the tool bucket, bullet-proof and slippery, without sharp corners, easy to grab from the tool bucket. It reads a few parts per million, does not know the LEL, the lower explosion level. This is just a ppm number. It made a nice scream at the propane leak I found, and it was positioned so precisely that I could see the pinhole it leaked from the right side of the sensor. It drops to zero a few inches away. Loud enough to be heard in industrial settings.

I have been smelling very faint gas for several months. This is something that comes and goes, and it makes me almost crazy. I bought a version with a digital screen and scanned the house everywhere. Finally, a leak was found on the gas valve of the gas pipe in my basement. Call the fire department to confirm, and call my gas company. Both teams have the same type of detector to measure ppm. They were impressed that a small leak was found in this device.

By reading mixed reviews, I don’t know how good this detector is, but I need to find a leak that I’m really hard to find. Thought I would give this a try and found that the leak occurred in the supply line and it did not disappoint me. You can see in the picture that its reading is quite high, even after I found the leak, it was so small that I couldn't find it with soapy water. I bought a new supply line and installed it. There is no smell of propane in the house!

A few months ago, there was a serious natural gas leak in my home. The smell of rotten eggs. Open the window and call the gas company. It turns out that one of the gas lines embedded under the concrete pad has rusted and started to leak. It must have lasted for a while, but I didn't notice it. My sense of smell is not the greatest. My wife is the one who complains about it. Sealed up that line and fixed it later. So, for peace of mind, I decided to buy this detector. Go with the digital unit. Visual indication of PPM. I replaced a gas dryer and I want to check if they installed it correctly. The detector told me they did it. So, I have nothing to worry about! It is easy to determine if the detector is working properly by following the instructions included with the device. Then it is easy to use it to check all the gas appliances in my house. As I said, peace of mind!
