Light and magnification are what I am after, I am building a model with some very small parts, and need extra light in order to be able to see where the parts fit. You may have to tighten the base. The nut is not very tight. It will fall when the arm reaches a long distance. I put a paperweight on the base to counteract it. This is a good value.

It works wonderfully. It lights the areas I need lit in the way I need. The ability to detach and re-attach to my drafting desk allows me to focus the light where I need as I hand draw my fantasy maps. This lamp has met every expectation I had and surpassed in brightness and ability to manipulate.

Great product. Got it yesterday and installed it. It is bright enough to light up my workbench just as a light. But it adjusts anywhere you need it to and it stays in that position. The dimmer snitch is very nice to be able to dim it down when you are not working on fine things (electronics, or whatever you work on). I will definitely buy another one if I get another work area.
