I had a utility room where the light bulb socket could only be placed on a side wall, not the ceiling and I wanted to use a motion-activated bulb. I found that the bulb did not activate when I entered the room until I waved my hand near it which defeated the purpose. After installing this socket extender and turning in a 90 deg. angle, bulb activated great upon entry.

My motion bulbs wouldn't work in them but I won't take away stars because I'm not sure if those bulbs are just no good. Overall they are study though and wherever I place0 the arm it remains with no problem or sagging. I'm keeping them because my sockets face sideways so they're still good for me.
