I have actually held off writing the review for this dongle because ever since the USB-C dongle market started there have been so many of them hitting the market very quickly and in honesty a lot of them were junk that didn't last the month due to poor quality construction and components so I wanted to make sure this one would actually last longer than the cheap rubbish ones I have bought before and thankfully it has held up just fine and still works as good today as it did on the first day albeit it has picked up some minor dirt along the way but thats notice a micro-fibre cloth can't fix and I am one of those people that always have one on hand!. Thanks to the fact they gave us full USB 3.0 ports on this dongle it allows me to transfer my video files which are sometimes 9-15GB in size from my externals quite fast and get the work I need to get done finished in the faster fashion. I used to use a cheaper dongle which didn't include USB 3.0 and it was tragically slow so thankfully I have learned my lesson. Having 4 USB ports is also a nice mix on occasion for me as I near enough always use a mouse with my MacBook because I find it easier personally than the trackpad and having the space to connect 3 external HDDs and a mouse at the same is very useful for me. The only thing missing from this dongle is an SD card slot but as mentioned before they do a different version which supports this so I will check that one out also.

The build quality of this unit is I think a metal base which feels nice and solid with as mentioned before a white/silver coloring which does look good paired with the MacBook. The USB-C cable has a fairly standard length from the port to the dongle and the cable feels nice and strong with no worrying about it bending over usage. The connector feels quite strong and has so far stood up to the month-long daily abuse I have given it and it works as good as it did on the first day still. Even with the robust and strong feel to it, the dongle does actually feel quite lightweight so if you plan on traveling with this in your case you're going to be able to do this without even noticing it is there as I don't on my travels. The port selection on this dongle is very specific for certain needs and offers 4 x full USB 3.0 ports and 1 x HDMI port which is 4k compatible. The USB 3.0 ports offer the full speed and allow me to transfer the data I need from the army of external hard drives I use and transport on a daily basis for work and side projects. I have had 2 flash drives and 2 external 1 TB hard drives connected up to this at the same time at one point and I was able to work with no holds up or lagging of any kind. I often use this to connect my wireless Logitech mouse to my MacBook especially for editing and I personally find it easier to do this and again I have not noticed any lagging or skipping coming from the mouse. I also connect this to a 4k spare monitor I have in the office for those times when I need a bit more screen real estate and it works well giving me the resolution I need without needing to lug around multiple dongles like I was doing before.

This item was delivered in a sturdy box, so would make a great item to wrap up as a gift. It has an Usb c lead attached to it, and 3 hi speed usb 3.0 ports as well as an sd and micro sd card reader. Metal fronted with a plastic base, it’s very lightweight and feels like a quality item. Brushed silver in colour, so should be fingerprint resistant. The 3 usb 3.0 ports are nicely spaced out, so should accommodate even the bulkiest of plugs. I have a Chuwi HI8 tablet, which only has one usb c input, so this item is a god send to me. I can confirm the power delivery pass through charging works with this device/tablet combo, and the ability to have 3 usb ports can be invaluable when using the windows partition of the tablet. A quality product, and with the added options of card readers and high speed usb as well as power delivery, this hub is very useful.

Not only do own a MacBook Pro which we all know by now suffers from a lack of an SD card slot which can be annoying but now I also own an Eve-V Microsoft surface competitor tablet which is now a mixture of both USB and Type-C but I find the number of hard drives and flash drives I connect I am always running out of ports so these come in very handy and I can never have enough of them on hand. The one I was using decided to fall apart on me when I last tried to use it so I decided to try this one out to replace it and see if it was any better. In the box, you get the adapter and some instruction manuals and that is all. My first impressions on this device are that with most of Dodocools products they are well built and well designed and this product is no exception as the color does compliment the MacBook quite nicely, however, a black version would be really nice too so it can match other color devices like my Eve-V which is black. This device does not offer charge passthrough so you can not charge your MacBook or tablet whilst using this but they do sell another version which has this but it is slightly more expensive.

This usb-c to 4 port USB 3.0 hub that even has a HD output port works wonderfully! I have had a great experience with every dodocool product I have ever purchased, and this hub works as perfectly as I expected! It's a very high quality hub with the USB C connection. Dodocool is my favorite brand on Amazon because all of their products work so well, have clear instructions and work as well as this product does with high quality material. I love this hub!

I'm very pleased with the quality of this product, the USB ports are fast and the memory card reader works very well. The product looks very sleek and feels very premium. I like that there is a USB port on either side. One thing I noticed is that I only got 55W of power delivery from this adapter. This isn't a big deal for my 13inch MacBook Pro w/ touch bar 2017 but it could present a problem with it's 15inch counterpart. I also really wish that it has just a HDMI port. If this was included as well this would be honestly perfect and there is a nice gap for it too.

I needed a new hub for data transfer between my macbook and USB3.0 external hard-drives, this one serves my needs precisely. The hub actually looks like an extension of the macbook in that the outer case is made of silver metal, and the USB type-C cable is well insulated and sturdy. The specification of the Hub is as advertised and includes 4xUSB3.0, 1xHDMI and 1xUSB type-C ports. The hub is also plug_and_play and does not need any drivers. In all, a highly efficient unit for high-speed data transfer and I would reccommend it.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase and this dongle now lives in my office and fills the void that was missing when using the cheaper more rubbish quality dongles in the past. The build quality is good and the construction is capable of holding up quite well even through regular usage. The color choice compliments the MacBook color scheme quite nice also but I would like to see an inclusion of a black one now more and more devices are supporting Type-C. The port selection is very specific to my office needs and works well and the best part is that it is good value for money and you do get what you pay for here. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good quality dongle and to stay away from the Chinese rubbish which might be cheaper but definitely not useful or better.

After getting a new laptop these days, getting a nice hub is a must. It is very nice to just plug all peripherals into the laptop at once. Especially with laptops getting thinner and thinner, it is difficult to find a decent one with enough ports built in. Everything still uses USB 3.0 so I pretty much had to find a hub that suited my needs and I couldn't believe that some go for up to 80+ dollars. I was glad I found this one because it still looks nice and it has all the features I need. Right now I don't use the expandable storage slots but having power over USB C is great. If you are looking at buying a new laptop make sure you are also looking at hubs! It will save you a headache after you set up any new laptop.

I got this hub about 3 months before. I liked the premium design and the functionality of HD output and being able to connect 4 USB 3.0 devices. Though there isn't any SD or mSD card reader. Initially, it was conflicting with my laptop WiFi connectivity. After contacting the seller they suggested to use an extension cable, which I really do not prefer. After software update on my laptop, it's working fine. If you are looking for portability then there are other products from the same seller, which are really good. But if you need to connect a lot of USB device and need an HD output port then go for it. The price point is moderate if you consider all functionalities, but I personally think they could add SD card reader.

If I could give more stars I would. This device works perfectly for me. I purchased this with the intention of using it as a storage adapter for my cellphone and it works flawlessly. I have microSD cards all over the place that I want to be able to access on my cell. I have a dashcam that uses microSD and in the event something interesting or dangerous happens I want to remove those files from the dashcam(or make copies) for storage. With this device hooked up, my phone picks up the card as if it was an internal drive and allows me to get to the data directly to or from my cellphone. Also, it was able to pick up a USB hard drive which means I now have an easy way to backup the data from the internal card in my phone. AND get this, I was able to plug in a USB mouse and it actually worked. I've got a note8, and the "dex" option was triggered on my phone when I tested the mouse, so now I'm wondering if there's a way for me to hook up a monitor to this thing somehow. I know there are USB-C to display port adapters but I don't have one to test. Regardless though, I can still hook up a keyboard, mouse, external hard drive or microSD card and then cast my cellphone to a TV with a chromecast and have a computer like experience. So to review, I can hook up a microSD card to this device and on my phone I can access it as easily as any other storage internally to transfer files back and forth. I can hook up an external hard drive to either make backups, transfer data, or use to store movies and stream to a chromecast. I can use a keyboard/mouse on my phone through this device. It has a USB-C passthrough which might allow me to hook up a monitor. At the very least I could use it for a charging port for additional devices. Super useful, in so many different ways. A must for my "tech bag" that I carry all around with me for work. Easy 5 stars for me!

I bought this directly from the manufacturer. I purchased it to give to my cousin who was about to go study abroad. He recently bought a new ultrabook laptop and it only had a USB-C port on it (no USB ports). He uses the USB ports a lot for his iPhone, iPad, wireless mouse, etc. So this USB-C Hub was perfect for him. I spoke with him the other day and he was so glad I got him this. It's plugged into his laptop all the time since he has multiple devices that use the USB ports from this hub. He's been using it daily for almost 6 months and it's been working great for him. It also comes with an HDMI port, but he doesn't use it. Considering it has 4 USB ports and 1 HDMI port, it's really hard to find a device like this for the price. I originally bought one from Best Buy which was twice the price of this one. And it only had 3 USB ports. For the price, amount of USB ports, and quality of the product, it's definitely worth it!

This usb-c hub works great. Out of the box, you plug it in your usb-c port on your computer and you are ready to go. Some of these types of hubs require using 2 ports, which, if you order and don't have the exact model, you are out of luck. that is what I love about this usb-c hub. It uses one port, with a flexible cord. You plug it in, and now that port does the job of a whole plethora of hardware. The build quality is amazing. the aluminum casing, the sturdy cord connection, and the solid feel as you plug in your devices and sd cards really put this hub a bit above the rest. I did not run into any issues, but there description says to stay away from using a bunch of high power things at the same time. Like I said, I did not run into any issues, but the company states that, and I thought it was worth mentioning. You cannot go wrong with this hub.

I received the dodocool DC31S directly from the manufacuter. I've been looking for a USB-C hub for both my Acer R13 Chromebook and my MacBook. The main purpose for my search is to use the hub as a docking station for my MacBook. In order to use a hub as a docking station, it must have a USB-C power passthrough. Unfortunately, this model does not have this feature so it only serves as a dongle to provide HDMI and 4 additional USB ports. When using this device, you cannot charge your computer at the same time unless you have two USB-C ports, which neither the Acer R13 Chromebook book nor the MacBook have. If you are going to spend money on a USB-C hub from dodocool, If the configuration of this model serves your needs, it will function admirably and the price is right inline with other hubs if not a bit more reasonable. Build quality is good and I like the aluminum top and sides. I had no issues using this hub on either of the devices listed above.Both of my devices recognized the hub and the ports it provides. HDMI is as expected and both devices allowed me mirror or extend my display.
