I'm afraid that you need a router which have wps. You are able to see the bullet description on this product page:Maximum WLAN security with WPA2, WPA and WEP(128/64). Easy wireless security encryption with a push of the WPS button.

There tech help consists of them e-mailing you, attempting to resolve the issue and basically telling you that you are doing it wrong (I.T. professional here.) I can't even return this junk!

Depress reset button with the end of a large paper clip. Look at the diagram in the instructions.

This worked great as a repeater on a NETGEAR AC1600 Router. The instructions were easy to use. It did take me two attempts and I have to admit I was worried it would not work. I reset everything, followed the set up again and it works. We had a weak WIFI signal in our bedroom in the back of the house. I plugged this in the foyer leading to the back of the house and now I have a clear and strong signal. I would recommend this product in spite of some of the other reviews.

UPDATED ::: I have not gotten this product to work as a repeater. Several tries to set it up and according to the instruction booklet. I get it to register, and I can connect to my network, but not getting it to connect to the internet. Very disappointing. Does anybody have any tips/tricks to get it working, before I send it back? Update 2/25/17 After browsing through forums, I discovered that the language in the booklet is confusing. The device connects fine with your router via use of the WPS button. Make sure you press the one on your router first (6 seconds) and then on the dodocool repeater (2-3 seconds). After that it's setup as described in the booklet. Rename your networks to avoid any confusion with your router SSID (i.e. Network becomes NetworkX)

I apologize in advance for the length of this review, but if it helps your decision then it was worth it. This is mostly a walk-through as I setup the DodoCool to work with my router. Support The manufacturer does have a website, but it has minimal information and no FAQ's on this product. It did have a firmware upgrade file for downloading. The manufacturer's website listed a Hong Kong locale which probably explains the minimal documentation. MAC filtering I use MAC filtering on my router. A MAC address is like a serial number for a device. My router only allows designated devices (my PC, my phone, my printer) to access it based on those MAC addresses. If your router was setup to use MAC filtering, you must add the DodoCool's MAC address to the router's MAC list. The DodoCool has a sticker on it with the MAC addresses (one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz). I added the MAC addresses to my router's filter list to allow the DodoCool to have access. WPS My router won't allow using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) when you use a MAC filter list. Although I could have temporarily disabled the MAC filtering, I chose to use the setup utility provided by DodoCool. I first plugged in my catx cable into the DodoCool's LAN jack and to my PC's network jack. I plugged in the DodoCool near to my computer (a temporary location during setup). I intend to use the DodoCool as a repeater to extend my existing signal so I switched the little black DodoCool button to the "AP/Repeater" setting. I then switched the on/off button to "on". Setup Utility The sticker on the DodoCool showed a designated IP address for it as http://192.168.10.1. Those of you familiar with home networking will recognize it as a home networking subnet. It is a safe address reserved for home devices. Notice that there is no "www" used. Entering this IP address into my browser brought up the DodoCool setup utility. It first asks for a username and password. A sticker on the DodoCool device lists the default username and password as "admin" and "admin" respectively. After entering these defaults, a dialog box pops up and cautions you to change the default passwords. It then brings you directly to their password change page. Impressive. I haven't encountered any setup utilities that do that. After submitting a new password, you are brought back to the login page to tryout your new password. I did find that both the password and the username are case sensitive. You are then presented with the setup utility home screen. I have attached a photo. The home page will look almost identical for the router setup. The difference is the wizard boxes in the upper left section. I noticed a wizard for AP, Repeater and Router depending upon how you set the little black switch labeled "Router AP/Repeater" on DodoCool itself. Default SSID An SSID is a name applied to a wireless network. Notice from the photos that there are wizards that will launch a scan of local wi-fi SSID's being broadcast around you. My neighbors have some very funny SSID's including "Goodbye_TWC" and "AndroidBoy". You can select your network from among the local wi-fi's discovered by DodoCool and then add a password. This is not unlike setting up a smartphone or PC. By default the setup utility assigned the same SSID to DodoCool that my router uses. In other words, my router is broadcasting "MyNet" and DodoCool is broadcasting "MyNet". This is okay but not recommended. This article makes a good case for why you should use a different SSID. https://routerguide.net/wifi-range-extender-best-setup-guide/ I suspect that those using the WPS approach will find that their DodoCool SSID is no different than their network SSID. If so, you may wish to use connect DodoCool to your PC and access the setup utility like I did. Changing the SSID With the DodoCool setup utility, you have the option to create your own SSID. Click on the "Basic Settings" in the red wi-fi box. From there, you'll be presented with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz options. My router broadcasts two SSID's: one for each frequency (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). For the DodoCool, I had to select one. Success I did have to unplug the network LAN jack and turn off the DodoCool for 10 seconds. Also, my router never showed the DodoCool as being connected to it. Nonetheless, my smartphone was able to connect to "MyNetdodo" without any problems.

I live in an old two story house and I had slow/dead spots and I was tired of the family complaints of bad wifi so I looked for a extender for my network. Ordered it and got it when promised, Read through the instructions once and then started the set up using the ethernet cord method. Five minutes later, the shouts of my family members from all over the house "Hey I see a new wifi option and has lots of bars! It works, we don't have dead spots anymore!" Great extender would buy another if I had to

I have no clue why in a small 3 bedroom how I wasn't getting spotty Wi-Fi just one room over but this extender did the trick! It was super easy to set up and found network right away, boosted the signal in the basement through concrete walled house. I've had no issues with connectivity since I got it. I'm totally satisfied.

It has very good quality and nice looking. Also it is not complicated to install at all. After using it for several days, i have to say the speed becomes very very very very fast and expand coverage of existing Wi-Fi, works with any Wi-Fi router standards and create strong ban dual connections. I feel pleased with it. As the ads says: the maximum WLAN security with WPA2, WPA and WEP(128/64); and you need to notice that maximum performance, actual data rates, and coverage will vary depending on network conditions and environmental factors. In a word, satisfied with everything. Very happy with purchase

Highly recommended product. I bought this extender wondering if an extender at such price would actually increase my wifi signal but it did so, and exceeded my expectations. Just plug it in and follow instructions to expand the signal from your wifi router! I cannot recommend this product enough! Extremely satisfied!
