Overview
CACAGOO OBD-II Diagnostic Scanner is a multifunction and high-tech diagnostic tool for OBD II protocols compliant vehicles. With its connected free Mini OBD II app and Wireless 4.0 / Wireless 2.0 dual-mode connection, it supports high-speed data transmission with low power consumption. You can get real-time sensor information and alerts right on your BT-enabled iOS or Android device. It helps improve driving performance, increase driver safety, improve fuel efficiency and reduce accident-associated costs.

Features

What is OBD-II?

OBD stands for On Board Diagnostics and the number II refers to the second generation of these tools that were updated in 1996. CACAGOO OBD-II Car Diagnostic Scanner helps comprehensively exam the whole car, detect sub-health in time, find trouble codes earlier and warn you when a problem arises in your car. It also helps monitor the current and historical fuel consumption, analyze driving behaviors and offer suggestions.

Wide Compatibility
Featuring a standard 16-pin OBD-II connector, it works with all OBD-II protocols compliant vehicles made in America after 1996 and most modern vehicles made in Europe and Asia. After launching the Mini OBD II app and connecting it to your BT-enabled iOS or Android device, you can transform your device into a professional-grade automotive scan tool. Free Mini OBD II app is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Smart & Real-time Display
With the Mini OBD II app, real-time fuel consumption and other driving information will be displayed and recorded directly on your BT-enabled devices. Cool HUD (Head-up Display) function enables you to see important information (e.g. vehicle speed) on the front windshield at the eye level, so you can read driving data without looking away from the road, more safe and comfortable.

Intuitive Driving Record
It records driving mileage, fuel consumption, oil costs, average speed, average fuel consumption, time costs and more. It also records and analyzes your driving behaviors and offer suggestions to help you develop good driving habits, minimize damages to your beloved vehicles and save money.

Vehicle Examination
Take a 360 degree full physical examination for your beloved car. Read diagnostic trouble codes (both generic and manufacturer specific DTCs) and display their meanings (database has over 3000 generic code definitions), clear trouble codes, turn off the MIL / Check Engine Light and display current sensor readings and eliminate driving hidden dangers early. Save money by fixing simple problems yourself!

Car Warning
Monitor the whole vehicle status. Real-time alarms can alert you when speed, water temperature or voltage goes beyond normal range to ensure driving safety. You can also set Tired Driving Alert.

Easy to Use
Step 1  Plug the OBD-II Scanner into your car's OBD-II port.
Step 2  Start your vehicle.
Step 3  Launch the Mini OBD II app.
Step 4  Tap the human head icon on the upper right corner and pair it with your device via BT.

The adapter looks like the picture and works perfectly on Android. Unfortunately, the adapter projects a good three centimeters on the plastic surface because the plug is not sinking too much at the leaf. But don't mind it at the company, I won't accidentally come to it. Technically, it meets the specifications and works perfectly. Clear purchase recommendations.

I ordered the OBD II adapter last week and have been using it in my car (Hyundai i30 FD) for a few days now. The app does not work on my Android phone, unfortunately, it cannot connect to the adapter. Now use another app that also recognizes the adapter. How it works is simple, the adapter only has to be plugged into an OBD II port in the car and then connected to a cell phone via Bluetooth. Various data such as engine temperature, speed or oil / petrol consumption can then be displayed in the app. I'm not a big fan of the CACAGOO adapter, but essentially it does what it should. But will soon invest a little more money in another, higher quality adapter. There are deductions for the non-functioning app.

I downloaded the recommended app and then tried to select my car. Unfortunately in vain ... my car, a Golf 7 GTI, was unfortunately not listed, as were the cars of friends and family, all after BJ 2012. I then decided on the "Torque" app because everything worked perfectly. Device good app crap.

the device works, but the official App is very concise and in English. I have not tried with other paid apps that would seem to be able to cancel the errors of the anomalies.

Very useful device, with the free app you can keep an eye on the car data such as engine rpm, turbo pressure, speed etc. On fiat punto zero latency, on toyota aygo too much to be considered useful.

Discharge the car battery in a flash if left attached with the engine off overnight the day after you switch it on.

In itself it does its job and is fine for monitoring the car and sensors, which are perhaps not factory-reported on the dashboard, but which the OBD detects and monitors. Defects are the update frequency, about 1 time per second but being bluetooth I understand it, and the fact that it requires software and the nice ones cost on the store.

I've been skeptical about these devices, Didn't really know how useful they really are. My friends car had the check engine light so we tried it and man was I surprised, it showed what the problem was in no time. I may be buying another one just have it in another car.

I was totally expecting a basic OBDII reader that spit out ECM codes for troubleshooting. What I got instead was a fully functioning computer system, that enables live data views, troubleshooting, views of ALL ECM data, and even dashboards that help you become a better driver. I was completely blown away. This is something I'd expect in a $200+ system, not for less than $20. You start by downloading the application (available for Android and iOS). The application name and instructions are provided in the small manual that comes with the reader. Open the application and register with an e-mail and password (required). Once you've downloaded the app to your phone, you turn on bluetooth, and then just go plug in the CACAGOO Bluetooth OBD II Scanner Code Reader onto the OBDII port in your car (driver side, under the dash). You'll need to either select the car type you have from the list, or simply add it to the list as a "custom" car (which I had to do for our Ford Escape Limited). It was very simple to do. Just type it in. Then... open your application, turn on the vehicle, and click connect. That's it. This is where I went from "oh, it'll tell me it has codes" to literally screaming for my son to come check out HOW COOL IS THIS!? The application provides multiple views, everything from dashboards, to ECM data (live stream), and even has a cool HUD feature where you put the phone on the dash in front of you, and you can see your speed and whatnot on the windshield! It blew me away how cool this thing is! I also loved the fact it's got analysis capabilities for determining how safe the driver has been driving (rapid stops, rapid accelerations, etc.), and you can reset the data, too. Botingtom line is that this device will completely blow through any expectations you have (maybe not now that you've read my review). If I could give it six stars, I would. Amazing!

CACAGOO Bluetooth OBD II Scanner Code Reader Diagnostic Scan Tool Adapter with HUD Display Function for iOS & Android My daughter sent me this so that I could records driving mileage, fuel consumption, oil costs, average speed, average fuel consumption, time costs and more. The product page stated that " Works with all OBD-II protocols compliant vehicles made in America after 1996" so she was hoping it would work with my car. The most important thing this little gadget does is it monitors the whole vehicle status, detect possible problems in time, and finds trouble codes. Real-time alarms can alert you when speed, water temperature or voltage goes beyond normal range to ensure driving safety. I had to replace a water pump because I did not notice the engine was overheating, so this can alert me next time before something bad happens. Note:The vehicle must have a standard 16-pin DLC (Data Link Connector) under the dash and the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label must state that the vehicle is OBD II compliant. Luckily mine did, so I am able to use this. It just plugs into the connector, and you just download the app and sync your phone and you have all the information you need. You can check to see what is wrong if the check engine light comes on, without going to the shop. It is an awesome gadget and I love it.

A few months back I took my 2002 Honda CR-V up to Quebec City from Vermont since the Kia was having work done on it (of course). The car worked fine but the warning light came on and I was kind of worries since it was the dead of winter and there were snow storms and I did not want to break down in the middle of nowhere. Luckily my buddy had one of these gadgets and we plugged it in and realized it was just an old filter that the car needed replaced. I'm not much of a car guy so I don't remember the details but I just remembered that my friend had one of these so I decided to try one. The app works well and it seems like the scanner can detect any issues with the car like it is supposed to. There is a feature in the app to work as a Heads Up Display if your phone/windshield can support it (not a flawless solution but a neat idea - not something I see myself using personally but others might). In general you might be able to save some money by having one of these if you are like me and don't want to drag the car to the shop every time a light comes on

This is such an informative device that I think every driver should own! It just plugs into your vehicle right under the steering wheel, you download the app on your phone and it syncs within seconds providing you every bit of information that you can think of about the health of your vehicle as well as a history of your driving tendencies down to how many times you stopped short or excellerated too much. It gives you a much, much better view about the overall health of your car/truck and can break it down to specific details of each part under your hood. This is the best thing I have ever purchased for my car in all the years I've been driving! It can definitely help the common person diagnosis a problem without having to pay a pricy mechanic! I highly recommend this product for every driver of an old or brand new car! It's a definite MUST Have!!

This OBDII scanner is pretty neat. I had a misfire in my truck a few months back due to a bad spark plug. I took it up to Advance Auto to have them verify that's what it was, even though I was planning on replacing all the plugs anyway. I just didn't want to replace the wires just yet if I didn't have to. That being said, I thought I might purchase this instead of buying a full-on scanner in the event I need it later on. Plus, my wife's Subaru has an ongoing catalytic converter sensor issue that I'd like to verify myself. In terms of ease of use, this is pretty simple and straightforward. I plugged in the scanner, downloaded the app, made an account with just my email, a new password, and vehicle type. It's clear that this is made in China and didn't have any American Ford models (I have a Ranger). Nevertheless, you can input your own model. I think it's just to differentiate vehicles if you're moving it from one to another. There's a HUD option showing MPH and RPM, but it's basically useless. The main thing is the "Engine Health" option. I haven't used it in the Subaru yet to see an actual code, but it did show my Ranger is in "Good Health". I'll update if the Subaru code doesn't work correctly. For the money and ease of use, this is 1000% better than a typical scanner. Plus, you can always leave it in, and pull up the app anytime instead of having to plug/unplug a scanner.

Great little tool to have when needed to check and clear check engine light. Super useful. I don't have to run to local shops for them to read the code when I can now do it myself. Great price too in comparison to other brands. I would buy again
