Packaging is sweet and legit. You can tell a lot of care goes into it. Then when you finally take it out the thing is dang heavy and as solid as a high end lens. I was super surprised. Snapped into my Sony a6300 perfectly. Through on my Canon 10-22 with a lens hood and get this, I had to take OFF the lens hood because it was showing up. I did NOT have to remove the lens hood when this lens was on my Canon crop DLSR, so is this close to full frame now?? AWESOME. Auto focus for photos is super quick. Autofocus for video is not constant (i dont think?), but you can still autofocus quickly in a moment before hitting record, which is how i recorded in the past anyway. I took it out at night and got some crazy crisp footage. I'm still going back to look at the footage because it looks so big and amazing. I'm using a super wide lens of course, but it looks great - tons of depth! Very very satisfied and highly recommended.

Autofocus slows down a bit compare to my eos t3, still works though on my ef28-135isusm. And keep that in mind, Sony only allow 10mp capturing after using this adapter on my a7ii

Works great, but not perfectly. I use this on my Sony a7s with Canon lenses and I only shoot video with it. I only use manual focus, so I can't speak much to the auto-focus feature, but I know it's not great. The biggest issues I've had with it are: not working well with my Sigma 105mm 2.8 IS Macro lens. The aperture on this lens doesn't work correctly with this adapter and won't go below f3.5; depending on the focus, it doesn't go below f4.5. It also doesn't lock the inner core of the lens when I turn the camera off to switch lenses. This adapter also suffers from light reflections/ glare. It's strongest when shooting into the sun, or when light sources are just out of frame. This is pretty easily remedied by buying some black cloth tape, and taping the inside. After I did that, it solved about 95% of my light issues. The other issue I've had is the tiny screws on the face of the adapter come loose after a while, and the connection between it and the lens starts malfunctioning. I bought a tiny screw driver just for this to keep them nice and tight. Other than those issues, it's a great value for the money. It's hard to complain much when it's about 1/5th the price of other adapters.

A lot of reviews mentioned the focusing delay in using this product but I tried it anyhow. Most said it took a few seconds of searching before focus was locked in. I found it rarely took more than a second. It wasn't instantaneous but fairly quick. I found a bigger problem in seeing the subject through the viewfinder in certain bright situations but that was more a fault of the camera than the adapter. When that happened I focused my attention on the focusing box rather than the subject I was shooting and when the box locked on, I shot. The results were great. All it took was a little time getting used to the adapter and a bit more time getting used to shooting in a slightly different way in bright sunlight. By the way, the Canon lens and Sony a7 combination was almost flawless in scenes that weren't brightly lit. I doubt I'd use it for fast moving sports but I bought my Sony more as a walk around camera than for my everyday newspaper work.

Assuming that the Metabones Speedbooster focus speed is comparable to the Mark IV Adapter, I can tell you that this item is basically the Metabones Adapter without the Metabones price. (I also own the Speedbooster.) The lens communication is there, while the speed is not.

Works with my Canon, Sigma and Tamron Glass. I purchased to have control of the aperture with manual focus.

After reading many helpful reviews about this adapter I decided to try one with the a6000 and several Canon mount lenses. I tested it with four different lenses: Canon EF-S 60mm Macro f2.8, Canon EF-S 10-22 f3.5-4.5, Tamron AF 28-75 f2.8, and Sigma 70-200 f2.8. The adapter did work successfully on all four lenses. Auto focus worked on all, however as others have stated, it is very slow. The lens will focus will rack all the way out and all the way in, and usually return to the correct focus, making a lot of noise from normally quiet lens. All this takes 2-3 second, and leaves you wondering if it's going to find focus at all. I was expecting slow AF but leaves lots of room for improvement. I had planned to focus these lenses manually anyway. The super slow focus would make it unusable for sports, kids, or even portraits. Aperture and shutter adjustments worked fine, as did the manual focus. Just remember to turn off any AF/MF switch if your lens has one. The drawback though is that the focus mode can only be used in single shot AF and there is no focus magnifier when the adapter is mounted. The plus side is that the focus peaking does work. I found that if focus peaking does not work at first, turning the lens AF/MF switch off and back on fixed the problem. All in all, the price is great, the item is built solid (weighs more than the camera body and 16-50 lens combined) and has a nice tripod foot. If you can deal with focusing manually, or aren't in a hurry for AF, this will let you hold off replacing all your Canon glass at once. Update 1/15/16 The tripod foot does not tighten fully with the thumb wheel, allowing some wobble between the foot and the lens. It probably won't fall off but if you are using the tripod and bracketing shots they won't line up due to the wobble.

Works on my FS7 firmware 2.0, reads aperture and does not give the white flash. The lens will click loudly when changing aperture however. I had a fotga adapter before this which would not work on my FS7 whatsoever and seemed to grind the lens mount lock upon installing it. This one mounts like a glove, but it doesn't attach to the lens itself smoothly. It almost feels as if it grinds it's way in.

I purchased this to use on Sony A7R with the following Canon Lenses: EF 24-70 1:2.8 L USM (first generation) EF 70-300 1:4.5-5.6 DO IS USM EF 16-35 1:2.8 L USM Auto focus worked for all three, although it is not fast, and would not be suitable for sports photography. It seems well built and held even the heavy 24-70mm lens securely. Initial lens installation felt rather tight, but subsequent fittings were improved. The opening definitely allows for full frame, but on the A7r you have to make a setting change to force 'unrecognized' lenses to shoot full frame. For 1/4 the cost of the Metabones adapter, which does not support auto focus on my adapters (per their website list anyway), I am pleased with this part.

I'm rating this adapter as 4 stars rather than 5 because it meets my needs but as with all the other "smart" adapters (except Sony's own adapter to fit its older series lenses to the new E mount) the autofocus function is so slow is really unusable. However, I still like being able to have electronic control of everything else - aperture, EXIF info - on the Canon EF lenses. The focusing aids on the Sony A6000 and A7 series bodies makes using manual focus practical for most uses. If you need high speed autofocus you're going to want to use native Sony or Sony/Zeiss lenses but otherwise it's nice to still be able to use Canon EF lenses on the Sony bodies.

Feels solid and well put together. The removable tripod mount is nice and balances well. I kept two Canon lenses that I wanted this to work with my Sony a6000 camera; here are the results: EF 50mm 1.8 works fine with this, all exif transfers, AF hunts and is noticeably slow but it works most of the time with the occasional mis-focus. My Canon EF-S 10-18mm lens also works fine, all exif information transfers and aperture controls are fine, the IS seems to be working fine, AF works in good light and outdoors, but in low light or indoors the autofocus doesn't work well at all. In good light the 10-18 lens takes from less than a second to 2-3 seconds to find focus, and I checked focus in Lightroom at 100% and confirmed accurate focus nearly every time. Manual focus is super easy with focus magnifier and focus peaking and I always use that on any critical shots. Overall a fantastic bargain, especially for someone who recently switched to mirrorless from shooting Canon for the past 14 years.

My expectation wasn't very high when I bought this. All I wanted was an adapter that can allow communication between the camera and my Canon lenses so that I wouldn't have to invest in Sony glasses. In this respect the adapter works fine. I can even autofocus as long as the light level is not too dim. But that doesn't matter too much to me because the AF speed with an adapter was expected to be slow, and it turns out to be correct. Not a big deal. I mainly shoot landscape with my A7 anyway and I can use manual focus using distance scale at hyperfocal distance. I can also use focus magnifier and focus peaking. It's also important to note that there's no vignetting on my 16-35 f4 IS lens. I've read about some other adapters that would produce vignetting. Lightroom is about to read most exif data, such as focal length, shutter speed, and so forth, but it can't read what lens was used. It's not a problem to me since I'm only using my ultrawide lens and nothing else so I know exactly what lens profile I can use in LR. However, imagine one day I bring along my 24-70. If I shoot with both lenses at the overlapping focal lengths (24-35), then later on it's possible that I can get confused as to what profile to use. This is a potential problem but it doesn't affect me that much. The build quality is pretty nice. It feels very solid. In fact it seems a little heavy. I feel confident when I screw my lens on this adapter. All in all, if you're like me who just needs an adapter that can enable you to use your existing canon lenses and you don't mind manual focus, then this is the right product for you. If you absolutely need autofocus, then you may find this adapter frustrating to use. It hunts big time in low light and even in good light the AF speed is suboptimal. It's so much easier to use MF. You can certainly pay 4-6 times more to get a metabone but from what I've heard they don't work perfectly either.

This adapter feels very good quality. What I like is that it allows to do autofocus, although it is a bit slower than normal in my sony a6000. Another thing is that it does not fit 100% to the camera, it moves a little, at least it happens with mine. maybe it's just a defect in my unit. Anyway that did not cause me any problem.
