I use this with two sheets of packing foam layered inside the bulb for extra diffusion and it works great. it's mostly used for macro work like shooting small frogs/reptiles/insects at night in the jungle. This model is much more secure than a similar one I had that only used two magnets instead of four. The slightest knock would send that one into the mud. When more diffusion is needed, I use a DIY flex arm to mount a collapsible diffusion disc in front of it and the results are great. It also travels very well. When not in use I place the stretchy mounting ring inside the bulb and jam it into the front pocket of my camera bag. The material is very resilient and I have no worries about damaging it. Sidenote: With a little effort the rubber mounting ring is stretchy enough to accommodate the 3" diameter round head of a Godox V1 speedlight. It was a little oversized for my much smaller Olympus FL-600R, but still worked fine. I ended up wrapping that flash in ranger bands to give it a bit more width for an improved fit.
