Go to the Zhiyun website. Look for the support link. Then look for the firmware and manual link. Follow the directions to update the firmware.

Hi, these units do not come with smartphone adapters. You'll need a smartphone holder that accommodates standard tripod mounting threads. Or consider the Zhiyun Smooth Q and Smooth 3 models that are specifically designed for use with smartphones.

No plate. Camera sits directly on the platform and a screw is inserted underneath to secure the camera. You could probably add a plate, like the Manfrotto 323.... I might try that!

No, but the gimbal itself can be shifted for 360 degrees.

The 24-70 it's a heavy lens but if you set the crane with the app you could find the right balance, according to the weight of the lens the engine works in 3 differenti ways...let me know

Absolutely amazing. I was impressed with the battery life. I took this on a trip to SouthEast Asia to shoot video and was able to make it through the full day, sometimes 2 days without recharging. I just powered off when not using. Video turned out so smooth. Very compact but heavy when holding for long periods of time. I found it very affordable considering it's capabilities. There were so minor glitches but easily resolved within minutes while I was out shooting. HIGHLY recommended, especially for Videographers.

This is not my first product that I've purchased at Tomtop. So far it has been hit or miss, but this one is totally a hit. The only small issue I have occasionally is that my camera is a bit on the heavy side and it occasionally will lose stability for a brief moment when I try to achieve certain camera moves. Regardless, totally worth the price. As far as trying to imagine what camera would work perfectly with this device, I'd suggest you check out the Sony a6000 or similar cameras (in terms of weight).

This thing is awesome! I mainly use it to film open dance floors at weddings with a Sony A6300 and Rokinon 12mm lens combo. Balance is perfect. No bumps or jitters or walking motion. Mind you my prior experience is using a Freefly Systems Movi M5, so I understand balance to a tee. I recommend you perfect balancing your camera on this gimbal prior to criticizing any off putting movements. Giving you different options such as inverted mode and every other mode listed in the product description. My only gripe is switching between modes. Just keep in mind you have to wait for the blue light to stop blinking before attempting to switch modes. I highly recommend this for travel as well. Can't wait to bring this with me everywhere.

Took this gimble all the way to Hong Kong through the city and up the mountains and it never let me down! Its small when compared to other gimbals like a ronin but just as if not smoother than larger gimbals. It is very simple to use and learn. The BATTERY LIFE IS AMAZING, I would shoot all day and charge every night, sometimes having it operate for 8 hours a day and it has yet to die on me.

This gimbal is the best bang for the buck. I have been a pro photographer (full time) since 1985, so I have invested in my fair share of equipment. Let's just say, I'm poor because of it (well, it feels that way). I began doing professional video work two years ago and finally decided to get a handheld gimbal. It was time. After much research, I chose to go with the Zhiyun Crane. Price was a major factor, but I have to tell you, the QUALITY is top notch as well. This thing is built like a tank and does the job perfectly. I'm still trying to master the best walking method in order to avoid bumping in the video, but there's only so much the gimbal can do. Just walk like a robot, nice and smoothly with your knees bent pretty far, and you should be good to go. The bad side of this is the next day, your glutes and legs will be sore as ever! lol. Once you learn the concept of getting your camera balanced, it's pretty easy to set up. I do wish they had a better way of attaching the camera to the gimble. I'm not crazy about that single screw, but I'm no engineer, so I guess it's the best way they can come up with. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of this gimbal. Don't waste your money on something far more expensive. This model will do what you need done for most simple projects.

Took about 20 minutes to balance, another 20 min to download firmware upgrade. My set up: Canon 80D - 10-22 lens. This is an awesome handheld gimbal and I'm glad I got this one. I was surprised how good it was right out of the box. The video is smooth as butter. Also, it works great for my Canon G7xmii. Highly recommend this gimbal.

The 3 axis gymbol is easy to balance and works really well! I can run with this thing and experience very smooth video. It is great for film makers who can't afford a DJI Ronan. BUT, you must have a very light weight camera and lens. My Sony a7s works very well with this, but I can only use my small 35 mm with this rig. I also find it easier to operate if you take off the extended battery pack on the camera (if you have one.) For the end result, if you have a small camera then this product is a very good buy.

The DS1 had a more of a manual steadicam gimbal movement which made the video more authentic but it had a tendency to drift on the horizon. Adjustment was not easy on the DS1 due to the software Simple BGC. Once I put the Crane through a day of filming, I'll report more. NOTE: the kit no longer comes with 4 batteries like what the reviewers stated. Just two 26550 batteries now. Weight limit is now 1.8KG.

After doing some extensive research about 3-axis gimbals for my Sony a6000, I settled on the Zhiyun Crane. I read and watched a lot of reviews, and I based my opinion on the reviewers that had used multiple gimbals, not just one. This gimbal is simply amazing. Great build quality, it comes with two sets of batteries that last for hours, it's tool less and very easy to setup. It also includes a mobile app that makes it a breeze to control, or you can purchase the bluetooth remote control as well. I'm very excited to create some new videos now that I've added this to my photo/video equipment.
