It is just over a month since I bought this Flash unit and I have used it quite a few times. I am well pleased with its sturdy build quality andease of use. Its a fully manual unit and having become familiar with its various feature and power settings I am very pleased with it. I have been using it with my camera on full manual setting with the flash at 1/2 power and camera aperture at f8 to start any project. I then tweak the power setting or aperture until I get the best result. as I always shoot raw I tweak finally with Photoshop. Great results especially with bounced flash.

First of all let me thank Amazon yet again for their excellent service. I have been using Amazon for several years now and have never had a problem. I always try to find products that are “fulfilled by Amazon” if possible, although I also have never had any problems with purchases by “other suppliers” through Amazon. I have a Sony Alpha SLT-A58 Camera and it has been difficult finding information with regards to flash equipment compatibility without having to pay top prices for Sony-Own-Brand equipment. I have read many reviews for flash guns and wireless triggers of various manufacturers. I came across these YongNuo YN-560 III flashguns and decided to try them out. I purchased 2 of them and they worked perfectly without the need for any hot-shoe adapter!!! They are very powerful with a Guide No. of 58 for a focal length of 105mm. The output has 8 levels so intensity is easily reduced. They also have a built-in Wireless Receiver that is compatible with their RF-603 or RF-602 wireless transceivers. They don’t support TTL exposure so you have to use manual exposures. I wasn’t sure about the transceivers as they are supplied for Canon and Nikon cameras and have hot-shoes and cables unique to these cameras. I decided to try them out as they are not expensive. I purchased RF-603II C3 and RF603II N3, and guess what? They all worked with my camera!!! (again without any hot-shoe adapter or cable). (You set the YN-560 flashgun to Rx Slave mode) You actually only need 1 trigger as the YN-560 flashguns have their own built-in receivers. Also, these triggers (transceivers) are both Transmitters and Receivers, so can be used with other makes of flashgun. I have tested them over a range of 10metres and they worked faultlessly. Admittedly I can’t use them to fire the shutter of my camera as they are intended for Canon/Nikon cameras. I don’t see why these flashguns and wireless transceivers can’t work on other cameras. (as long you don’t need TTL or shutter operation) The build quality of this equipment is unbelievably top quality for the price. I hope this review helps a lot of people as I spent many hours researching and reading reviews. I now intend to purchase at least 2 more flashguns to enable me to setup a lighting studio without having to trip over cables!

Build quality and operation as good as it gets. Would certainly recommend this product. The only criticism being that it is not TTL operation on my Canon 600D,but manual operation is fine. Would be very interested if Yongnu also perfect a TTL version for Canon. However,at the price, this is an extremely efficient flashgun.

I bought this based on positive reviews from various people and the incredibly low price, and I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase. The product is above and beyond what I expected; the build quality is fantastic (I managed to drop it whilst on from about a metre up while it was on and it kept going without a hiccup), the head rotates and tilts as much as you could want, it has excellent manual control settings, all the way down to 1/128 power in 0.3EV steps, which is invaluable due to the flash's very high power (GN58, on par with flashes six times its price). I've used it wirelessly off-camera using the slave mode with excellent results. I was considering the Metz 44 AF-1 which is almost three times as expensive, far less powerful and has far more limited manual controls, the only advantage being the ability to do automatic TTL metering. I'm honestly astounded that I managed to get such a first-class product for so much less - again, comparable first-party TTL flashes are five to six times as much money. Highly recommended.

Really good for the price. I use it as a studio light set on half power with an umbrella in front. Great.

For an amateur like me, I wasn't keen to plop a big attachment on top of my camera. My friend convinced me and for around £40, it's been an absolute bargain. The flash is easily adjustable. It's manually set but having never used a TTL flash, I can't say that's a negative. It's easy to adjust the strength and direction of the flash. The only criticism I have is Yongnuo's hot shoe connector. The laziness in me can't be bothered always tightening it and as a result the flash can sometimes slip. I see other official flashes have a slide mechanism which seems better. However if you are happy to spin that little disk 5-6 times when attaching and detaching (as I really should) it's a great flash. Especially when you consider the vast cost difference between this and Nikon ones

OK, Not had this very long. It arrived very quickly which was a nice surprise. It seems to work fine as a flash unit on my camera, but I'll be damned if I can get it to work with Yongnuo RF-600TX Wireless controllers. I don't suppose anyone has any ideas...

Great quality and doesn't chew batteries like my Canon 550EX - the built-in radio trigger is perfect with my RF-603 transceivers.

Great value for money though the instruction manual unneccessarily complicates its usage quite. simple to use really

Fully lives up to its reputation as one of the best value / fully specd. manual flashes on the market. The internal radio trigger works perfectly with the external Yongnuo RF603 unit. Very pleased.

I use these units professionally. They are hard wearing , easy to control and take knocks and inclement weather. For the price, it is amazing . It is easy to set up to match the triggers. I have 5 of these and 6 of the older model. Never misfired or overheated.

I got this to use as a slave flash for a nikon coolpix p900 as it was recommended to me. I can say it works perfectly and it works great too with my canon eos as well My only niggle is the diffuser. Its very hard to pull out! others have already given it a good review so beyond what they have stated already i've nothing to add...
