Hi. No such camera as a D5. If you are referring to a 5D then yes it will work. But why get a cheap low quality lens with a top of the range professional camera?

For my the results of the 35mm YONGNUO are so good! The AF works so great and the quality of the raw file are great! It’s a nice lens to low cost, and works great like a Canon lens.

I picked this up for nightclubs because my Canon 50mm 1.8 is too cropped in for small Venus on a cropped sensor. The image quality is great. I was hesitant to grab this at first because I thought it would be complete garbage for the price but it surprised me. I use my 18-55mm Canon kit lens in daylight but I wouldn’t mind using this prime lens if I had to. In fact, I just picked up a Canon 1n film camera and intend on this being my main lens since my kit lens has an EF-S mount. If you want to regularly shoot in low light. Buy this, it’s well worth the money.

So far, I'm happy with this lens. It's not the sharpest glass ever, but it's pretty darn good for a sub-$100 lens. The autofocus is quite good, fast and responsive, much better than my 15 year old Canon 50mm f1.8. Bokeh looks great and it's slight softness makes it a nice wide portrait lens on a crop sensor camera. I would recommend this lens for a shoot that does not require tack-sharp optics and good OOF highlights. Remember, this is a cheap lens. DO NOT expect it to perform like a $600 35mm f2. But, again, for the price, it's not terrible.

So, originally I ordered this lens and they literally shipped me somebody else's RETURN. It had finger smudges on both sides of the lenses, if you shook it something rattled, lens caps weren't even on in the package. It was freakin' awful. So I returned in super disappointed and decided to try again because it does have good reviews. So eventually I get it, and it worked for a while. (I haven't even had it 3 months, with that hardly any use) and I went to use it a month ago, and every picture came out blurry. I use manual. It wont produce a non blurry photo at all. Back of the camera is in focus until you see the actual picture it took. SO disappointed. I want to buy another but it's just going to happen again. Horrible customer service. They never even addressed the issue of sending me A RETURN and then I give them the benefit of the doubt and there product is a POS. so Cheap. Might as well spend the money and buy the canon brand. Atleast you know it will work and if it doesn't, canon has customer service that actually cares and you can get a hold of.

Most people wont be able to tell the difference in image quality between this and other high end glass. however, if you are going to be exposing this lens to rugged conditions it appears to be less durable and could be more susceptible to damage. I really love the blurry background it produces during video. The only drawback is you might need external audio because the lens is very noisy during auto focus mode. Overall this is a great deal.

I just decided to try this brand as I wished. All my shots are Canon until I get this shot. There aren't any other 35mm in my series, so I can't match any other brands. Today I took some practice shots, and I must say that I was impressed with the price. The bokeh is very good and the lens is easy to use. I have no problem.

For the money, you get a lot ~ it is perfect ~ not ~ but there are a lot more shots than they are not perfect cost ~ I have read a lot of comments ((not only on Amazon here))) said Canon 50mm 1.4 in its big Most configurations are fluent as low as 1.4~ no lens is perfect but there are many good lenses, this is one of them ~ this lens has a plastic cover on the front and back, so be sure to remove the protection at both ends of the lens cover. The lens or its photo comes out blurred ~
