Q & A
The inputs and output of this mixer are line level, not microphone level. Additionally, the jacks are 1/4" TS jacks, unbalanced. Standard microphones use XLR balanced connectors. I would not recommend using this mixer for microphones.

As long as all your connections are 1/4 in mono and you can accept mono output it should work

Yes if I understand your question. This is how I use the MX400 mixer. I have a casio keyboard that has no 1/4" out, so to play live performances I use a splitter cable from the keyboards 1/8" TRS stereo headphone output to a 1/4" TS left and 1/4" TS right. I then plug in the 1/4" left and 1/4" right into the MX400 inpu… see more Yes if I understand your question. This is how I use the MX400 mixer. Update on my previous answer, just got the thing in and tried it. Apparently it will only come from one side of the headphones. I can only guess this is because the headphones themselves are stereo and the default Mono channel is left, so the audio will play out of the left side.

Safely, yes; effectively, no. I don't see why you'd want to do that, anyway. If you are thinking of running it off a 9v battery, I'd advise against it. The way to do it would be to either look for a 12v battery or wire up several batteries in a series, so that they add up to at least 12v (and if they exceed 12v, you'll… see more Safely, yes; effectively, no. This device is a "mono"mixer. Maybe, you need to connect it with a adapter cable (mono out - stereo in).

Yes. Each chanel send mono. This box has 4 output mono or 2 stereos. I don't know about the input, I think is mono too. Than'k.

It's a mono line mixer. It's for managing multiple sound sources that have line outputs like keyboards, turntables and drum machines. It's not intended to amplify microphones or other low impedance sources. It might work but I don't think it will sound good.

Bought for mixing stereo guitar output down to one mono signal. This is a much weaker signal than it was designed for yet it works fine. I plug it into a guitar amp so I expected it would generate hiss of some kind when turned up. I was happy that noise is at acceptable low levels as long as input controls are no more than 1/3 of the way up. This is normal especially when using such an inexpensive piece of gear. Input is sufficiently high impedance that both piezo and magnetic pickup tone is transparent and clear. I will use it for live playing, not recording. One nit to pick: the power supply became intermittent after about 5 minutes, but I had another lying around so it wasn't worth returning just for that. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

My order arrived yesterday. It was worth paying a bit more for tracking. The product is of good quality, after all it is the company that manufactures under license to Behringer. Exactly like the original, including the knobs, which in the photos look different. The packaging is great, everything came perfect. Yesterday I even tested during worship at my church. I plugged in three sources, a synth, my audio interface plugged into the MacBook Pro and my iPhone. No distortion, clean sound! Highly recommend!
