I do love this product. I am giving it a 4 star for the following reasons... Love that the light is bright, has changing temperatures, and that you can change the color easily. It has fantastic versatility. I find it annoying that I have to take the battery off of the light when transporting it. Otherwise, the slightest knick of the power button will turn the light on in the bag, thus forcing the battery to run out. This also causes problems when I'd like to use this product for wedding photography. As fellow wedding photographers know, weddings are very fast paced, and taking the battery on and off during that day tends to be quite inconvenient. Also, I was one of "those" customers who didn't read all of the details on this particular listing. I did research on youtube for this item and went straight to Tomtop to purchase after being convinced. I didn't realize that this listing DOES NOT INCLUDE a battery or charger. You must purchase this separately. I also had a difficult time finding batteries locally for this product and had to purchase on Tomtop, although there were not Prime options, which took about 2 weeks to arrive.

(Purchase an AC power supply for it or the Sony battery to power it. It does not come with anything to power it.) However for the price this light is one of the best deals in Indy Filmmaking!! Super high output on highest setting, switch for going from 3200K to 5500K, an RGB function that allows you the whole rainbow spectrum of colors for doing special effects or specific mood lighting. An iPhone app that remotely controls every function of the light! This light wand mounted on an stand and turned all the way up and shooting into a 7' Photodiox diffusion disc is like having a huge window light to shoot with and create a light that looks amazing on film! The fact that you can get 8 of these for the price of one Ice light? Very pleased! I love this light!

I do low light photography in cramped spaces and this bad boy has been a lifesaver. I love the drama of off camera, single direction lighting and for the price, this one packs a punch. I do need to hold it somewhat close to my subject, but I have to do that anyway in my situation. It's really not bad from far away either and I have had to use this on a stand for fill light in on location portraiture(yes it has a thread for that!) when my speed light malfunctioned. The images turned out great. I love that I can adjust the temp of the light. Super handy, even though I work in raw, it's nice to see what I want when I chimp and not have to do much post adjustment. I have used a borrowed ice light and honestly this is not much different and way less expensive. There is no barn door to purchase for it, but I've read that folks have diy-ed one themselves. I thought I would need it to amp up the amount of light focused on my subject, but to date(a few months now) I have not felt that a barn door was a necessity. When I do I will surely make something, as I am a tinkerer and a 'make it work from crap around the house' kind of gal.

Excellent light, for the money it can't be beat!! I bought this for light painting and it works very well. Build seems pretty good though it is plastic so I wouldn't drop it on hard surfaces as I'm pretty sure it'll crack. It can create a wonderful soft light from 3200k to 5500k color temperature with lots of different power settings. But the great thing about this Yongnuo is that you can control the RGB colors individually in intensity to create any color hue you desire!! Mine came with the extended life battery which lasts a very long time, but is a little difficult to fit in the carrying case. The only thing I don't like about it is that the buttons are on the side with the light, so when you're trying to set it to what you want, you're blinding yourself at the same time.

Bought two of these and two tripods... Instant game changer for my videos! To diffuse the lights a little more (they are intense in a good way!) I have added 3 sheets of wax paper and it actually clips on to the light with the magnetic orange filter thing on the back. Works perfectly! Was considering getting two $500 LED light wands from B&H but found these and figured I'd give it a shot. Totally impressed and STOKED I did. ...And yes. You must buy the batteries and or power adapters separately. Not a huge deal for people who read the descriptions and reviews before buying! Ignore the haters that didn't order the batteries or power and are freaking out with negative reviews... That is their own fault! If you do photo or video work and want some POWERFUL lights for cheap... These are brilliant. I added on two inexpensive Ravelli tripods and BAM-SON! Portable light studio for like $200.

This light is really amazing for the price. It's clean and beautiful light in nearly any conditions and is battery operated. Couple this with the YN300 air for a nice portable light kit. Both use the same batteries and have identical color temperature control. One note: I did have a difficult time downloading the app for android. The site was down for nearly a week. Once downloaded my android device refuses to pair with it (ipad worked fine though). This device is paired with bluetooth devices daily without issue. Having control of the lights from behind the camera is one of the main reasons we got these small lights. I'll try again with another android phone. Quality is as expected for the price. It's not the most robust build quality, but should hold up under careful guerilla shoots. Image quality with these lights is very nice. Better than expected. Color cast seems neutral for daylight and incandescent respectively. Having fine control of dimmer and color temp or even RGB makes for a very nice experience. It just works. Overall opinion: You could certainly buy a higher quality portable light rig, but you'll certainly pay for it. This is THE best and least expensive set I've ever owned and I've bought plenty through the years. Buy it... get a couple of NP-F970 batteries and work all day. Much better than battery belts and the old MR16 bulbs with gels. With my Sony A7s and a6300 and one of the Yongnuo yn360 and two YN300 Air units I have a highly flexible and great quality studio light package in a backpack. That's good enough for me!

I love this light! I purchased this light as a photographer, wanting to use it on location when I need extra light but don't want to lug a bunch of equipment. This is exactly what I was looking for. I am very often in strange lighting situations and having this light with me ensures that I have a little bit of control over the light hitting my subjects. I used it at Christmas to add some light during presents being opened-you know kids get up so early in the morning! I didn't have a smidgen of natural light to work with and didn't want to turn on my icky tungsten bulbs. So I put this on and it allowed me to use the daylight white balance on my camera and get great early morning pics of the kiddos. I'm excited to take this with me on shoots. It makes me more confident that I can at least control some of the light. Note: it does not come with a battery! Order separately. I ordered my battery and it came from a different location than the light and did not receive them at the same time. Factor this in if you have a deadline. If you do a bit of research, you'll find that some sellers can get the battery to you faster than others.

I don’t think too many people have mentioned much about the performance aspect of this product, other than it's “bright”. I took the YN360 and measured the performance using an Asense Tek and the Spectrum Genius Essence app. I was skeptical on the advertised specs and rarely do you find a product with high CRI at a low cost. The YN360 actually exceeds what I expected for the low price tag. At full power 3200K, it measured at ~3000-3100K, CRI at 96, TLCI at 94.4. R9 was at 74. On the CIE1931 Chromaticity diagram it is perfect on target. At full power 5500K, it measured at ~5900K-6000K, CRI at 94, TLCI at 95.3. R9 at 81. On the CIE1931 Chromaticity diagram it is slightly off towards magenta but still very good on target. To achieve 5500K you will need to mix in approximately 10% 3200K. At the measured 5500K (5434K), CRI at 94, TLCI at 95.8. R9 at 82. On the CIE1931 Chromaticity diagram is is slightly off towards magenta but still very good. 100% 5500K and 50% 3200K will yield a 5000K mix. This was measured in complete darkness about 6” away, foot candle measured in between 1300 to 1600. I did not notice any flickering using a Samsung S7Edge in video mode, or a Canon 6D in 24, 30, or 60 FPS It’s bi-color, R, G, B. Color mixing using manual controls is a troublesome if you dont know how to color mix, but easier with the YN360 app via bluetooth. Diffuser needs help. So far, I have only used it for a few product shots and light painting. Battery life is solid. (NOT INCLUDED) Overall, I am very impressed with the YN360, it lives up to the specs for a very affordable price. The battery is external but there are plenty for a reasonable price.

You need to get these if you purchase the NP-F750 bettery and charger pack if you order this. It does not come with those so make sure you add these to your order! If you don't your loss. several posts on here tell you to do it. As far as the product. I am in love with it. I have not had an issue, and it is quite durable. I was very worried that it was going to be too delicate, and it wasn't. good for it's money. I personally love that I can change the color to create a more warm light or a cooler light depending on how I want my ambient light to come out. I also love that I can add a splash of color behind my couple on a wall or through a window. Good substitue if you can't afford an expensive name brand "ice light".

Simply amazing. Super versatile, very bright 32k and 55k (white) LEDs. I have two of them and will be using them heavily for the foreseeable future. Know that it does not come with a power source. You will want to buy a second one as soon as you get your first. These things are well worth the money. Do not buy it if you need the RGB LEDs to use as primary light when shooting video, though I think they do nicely for moody photos. If you are willing to rig a gel for it and use the brighter 'white' LEDs then by all means, this is going to make you very happy. Just know you will need some DIY skills to pull that off. The two sets of 'white' light LEDs are really bright when set at max, able to light a small room. You control the 55k and 32k LED power levels separately giving you the ability to match any lighting temperature you want to work in. This gives me my first ability to walk into an already lit area and simply add light without having to fuss about in Photoshop to get the lighting consistent across my image. Powerful, easy, fun, and cheap. Buy it and enjoy.

I have used this for interviews, photography, and light painting, and so far it has worked as expected. It is not heavy duty, but the creative freedom it provides is well worth the cost. I keep it in the padded case and carry it with my light stands. I do not keep the battery in it, as it will turn on very easily in transport. BE AWARE: IT DOES NOT COME WITH A BATTER/CHARGER. I knew this in advance and bought them separate, but I am seeing a lot of criticism and low ratings for this point. Read the description. It is as advertised, and all of the YN line are like this. I own other YN LED units, and always buy batteries separate.

This Light is so Impressive, not only is it bigger than most Lights in the same tier, but this one Can do Daylight, Tungston, and Full range RGB. The App only makes it even easier to use and that way you don't have to be right next to the buttons or even close to the light. But keep in mind just like Any other light that does Daylight/ Tungston it will only use Half the LED's unless you use both at the same time witch this light can do.. Its incredibly bright alone with just daylight on. even at 60%. It can fit a tripod aswell. the Back side of the light has a Red (warm) magnetic filter that you can clip o to the front and when your done with it just fit it right back onto the back end, I don't really know why you would need a Red filter but it comes with it for no additional cost so im happy with it.. The reason why I don't know why you would need it is because you already have the Tungston capability aswell as RGB so you can just go thru a wide array of Red colors idk if you would want to warm up blue or warm up green but its always a option to be creative with it. This Light is pretty Harsh tho being it doesn't have any major diffusion but you can always do something DIY to make that happen, Wax paper or just get creative with that aswell.. Only thing this light doesn't come with any Cords for Wall use, or any Batterys so you will have to make at least 1 additional Purchase for either or. or Both.. I went with just the batterys so I can use them outside on any music video set I need to have quick lighting with.. I believe the batterys for a set of two were around $33.99 wich isn't bad being that This light only requires 1 Battery so you can in turn Purchase another YN360 or a different YN light and use both. being that you will have 2 batterys now.. I would 100% recommend this light. Give it a shot.

badass. favorite application: assisting using it to add light to a dark dancefloor so that I can get focus and then depend on my off camera flashes to go off to properly expose the image. This light is super easy to use. One note: if you lay it button-down, the button presses down which means the light turns on or off. Also, super super bummed I didn't realize that THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A BATTERY. You must buy your battery separately. No big deal. Just wish I had known so I could start playing with it before then having to wait to order the battery. Found a two battery/charger set that was perfect.

There are two white light colors 5500k and 3200k. These LED's are independent of one another, and you can vary the intensity of both sets of lights on a scale from 0 to 99. Zero being off and 99 being full power. With the LED's being independent, you can adjust their intensity individually. This gives you the ability to mix colors to match natural light. There's also another bank of LED's. These are RGB lights which it's possible to mix lights to get a specific color. All that you do is to press the RGB control button; which will cycle through the Red, Green, and Blue lights. As with the white lights, you can vary the intensity of all three lights on a scale from 0 (off) to 99 (full brightness.) By changing the values, you can mix the lights to get a color and brightness that you'd like. These lights you would have to adjust the colors by a ratio, so it's possible to mix a special color and intensity. Oh, and there's also a control for the adjustment of the LED's. Fine control adjusts the intensity one number at a time (1,2,3,) and Course control which jumps ten units at a time (05,15,25,) and so on. This version doesn't include any batteries, but that's just how I wanted it. I ordered the big SONY batteries. They take over twelve hours to charge, but they provide almost three hours of light when the light is on full power. But, that's not all! (I sound like an infomercial.) But, there's an amber light modifier that's held on the back of the light with magnets. It can be easily placed over the light to match sunrise or sunset. When you're finished, just slide it back over to the other side. Only one small problem, if you drop the light, it's gonna fly off of the light. This is more than I expected. It's an excellent value, and an important and useful tool for my photography. I'm gonna go ahead and say it. It puts the ICE Light to shame, and for a fifth of the price to boot.

Pretty solid light, but the RGB is not even as close to as bright as I was hoping it would be, but the 3200K/5500K light mode is extremely bright, however it can be dimmed. Would give it 4.5 stars because there were a few thing I didn't care for, such as you must remove the battery completely when not in use because it always stays on a blue tooth discoverable mode. which is pretty cool because you can turn it on super easy with your phone. 9/10 Would recommend. If you're comparing it to a $500 Wescott, this is a 10/10 easy because of the price itself. But I'm judging it by itself!

Considering the cost, power and versatility of these lights they are terrifically useful and very portable for use on shoots. I have five and use them for portraits very different from the standard softbox/ beauty dish look. It the took me a few minutes to work out you need to turn down the daylight/tungsten switches up and down individually to adjust colour temperature. A slight irritation is the light turns itself on if you set it down on it's back - easily solved by gluing a little rubber stop to keep the push switch clear of the surface. Instead of expensive Sony batteries I bought Sony AA battery replacement adapters for about $3 each to use my rechargeable AA speed light batteries - the lights run for hours. The ability of the unit to produce saturated coloured light without having to mess around with gels I find very useful. The colour control switch on the back is not the most intuitive thing to use, it's a bit hit or miss. Much better is the free Yongnuo smartphone app for bluetooth control which gives a very quick way to dial in the colour/saturation you want - only problem is it works for only one light so for a multi light set up it's very frustrating. I use a piece of tracing paper to soften off the pattern on the led's and a thin strip of velcro around the edge of the unit to attach thin black art store plastic as barndoors.

After seeing someone mention these lights on Reddit and subsequently watching a video review, I decided to pick up a pair of these things along with a pair of batteries and a charger. Everything arrived nicely packed, and my first impressions out of the box were that the build quality is quite good. Sturdy plastic, no rattling or loose parts, everything is fairly solid. The included case is also really nice, and has a sling strap for easy transport. Getting the light working was a simple matter of popping in a battery (yes folks, do a little reading and research ahead of time; power is NOT INCLUDED), turning it on, and playing with the dials. The unit remembers the last mode you adjusted when you power it on, so if you shut it off while adjusting the 5500K lights, that's what it'll be using when you turn it back on. Adjusting RGB is a little cumbersome, but the RGB indicator on the control panel glows to the color you're currently adjusting so that makes things a little easier. Light output from the 3200K and 5200K LEDs is very strong, while the RGB LED output is a bit weaker (since there are fewer actual bulbs), but still quite usable. It also comes with a magnetic orange-tinted overlay for warming up the colors of the LEDs, but honestly I'd have preferred a neutral diffuser instead. It baffles me why they decided on orange. A big plus is the standard tripod mount at the bottom of the unit. It's made of metal rather than threaded plastic, so long-term mounted use isn't a concern at all. An in-built battery meter tells you the battery level reading (1-9) at the touch of a button. Where these things really shine is with the app. If you've ever used a Philips Hue system, you'll feel right at home adjusting the colors of these wands through the downloadable Bluetooth app. Unfortunately, while the app does provide for 8 separate channels of control and multiple websites advertise this product as having an "8 channel grouping function," it is NOT POSSIBLE to control more than one unit from one phone. This was my biggest disappointment with these units. I was really hoping to be able to individually control each light from a single device, but that's bizarrely not the case. I can get by with two phones each controlling one of the lights, but I do not relish the idea of needing to have multiple smartphones each controlling a single device - especially if I get more of these things. Overall it's a great product for the price, and I highly recommend it. Just be aware of the shortfalls. Pros: - Great output on the 5500K and 3200K lights - A nice case is included. - Metal tripod mount. - Bluetooth connectivity for easy control. Cons: - Bluetooth app can only control a single light. - Fewer RGB LEDs means weaker colored output. - Power (AC adapter and/or batteries) is not included.

I have always liked Yongnuo products and once again they have not let me down. This is an awesome portable handheld light source for not very much money. It's can get very bright and the RGB Led light bank makes even more attractable. My only disappointment is that I wish the battery was hidden away inside the body and that the power button didn't turn on so easy. I have turned it on and off by accident because of its location. Bottom line is its a awesome little light for under $100 and I will be buying another one. I have included my very first test shot and there was no effort put into this, Just image when you take time and set up right :)
