Ordered this kit to use as a demo piece for a soldering class I am teaching. Kit came with no assembly instructions, but the board is pretty clearly marked so it isn't hard to figure out how everything goes together. Soldered the components to the board and plugged it in. Nothing. After checking my connections, etc. I tried a different USB cable. The cable that was included was bad. Again no big deal, since I have multiple mini-USB cables laying around. Once its up and running, it looks pretty cool. Luckily the Amazon product description includes directions on setting time, date and all. There does seem to be an issue with it losing time, I keep having to reset it. So it would be a cool little soldering project for someone who is trying to learn, but don't count on it to be an accurate time piece. Edit: It does keep accurate time if you assemble it correctly. I figured out what I had done, and now it is keeping perfect time. i had tacked the crystal down to the board, because there was a solder pad to solder it to. I think it wasn't allowing the crystal inside to vibrate correctly. I de-soldered it from the pad and it is now as accurate as any other digital clock. I bumped my initial review up a star to reflect.

A very cool little clock! I enjoyed putting it together, if you've done enough projects, it's not difficult at all. The instructions are straightforward, didn't take but a few trys to figure it out. I also used stock photos to ensure proper positioning of display cubes, temp sensor, and beeper. When you change time from 24 to 12 hour, then set time, it will set in 24 hour mode, but when your done, will display time in 12 hour mode. Weird, but that's how it works.
