I've been having trouble to get it working at all---the timer and night/day adjustments don't seem to work. I would guess it would work in horizontal position because the sensor is open on both sides--but I never tired ot that way. I will be returning it if I can't adjust it to work

Not sure I understand your question. It will fit in a standard light socket and a standard bulb fits it. I have mine in a porcelain light socket in an 8’ ceiling and it hangs down 6-8 inches with a bulb in it.

Don’t recall exactly but it’s several minutes. Put two in my garage since the opener doesn’t have a light. They work really well. Ceiling is 8 ft but it will pick up movement from my yellow lab.

I installed it outdoors and it works fine. But my installation is protected from rain.

We use ours in the garage with the simple white porcelain lamp holders and they work great whether it's me or my lab going into the garage. I would imagine if the shade or globe were clear, they would be alright but if there is anything impeding the sensor, they're not going to work.
