I know the 560EXIII can move up and down but can it move side to side?

Does this work with Yongnuo YN-622N wireless triggers?

A
  • I have a YN-622C (Canon) and it does NOT work with the exception of simply firing if and when the channels are configured. It makes no sense and it's inexcusable as a consumer. You get what you pay for I suppose.

My review of the Yongnuo 560-III. This is a high quality flash comparable to the Canon 580EX and I will say that it has improved my indoor flash photography tremendously. I really love the ability to change the flash zoom settings from 24mm to 105mm. You can also change the power output from 1/128 (low power) to 1/1 (high power). I would suggest keeping it 1/128 for most situations, because this flash can produce extremely powerful output that can blind a person. (Be careful) The 560-III does come with a built in diffuser, but would suggest buying a separate 'plastic cap version' to soften the powerful output further. You have a choice of both Manual and Multi-Mode. There is a built-in backlight to illuminate and see your flash options in darker environments. There is an IR sensor and radio frequency mode for wireless flash settings. So far, I really love this 560-III flash by Yongnuo, and it a great deal for its cost. Two thumbs up!

This is a manual mode only flash that has built in 2.4Ghz remote control. I use this with my Canon 5D mk3 and a set of Yongnuo YN RF-603 C3 triggers. No trigger is needed for the flash end, just your camera if it does not already have it. I can now shoot with wireless flash at up to 1/160 shutter speed. This unit feels a little cheaper than my Canon 430 EX II but not a million miles away. It is much brighter than the 430, as it should be. The big issue of course is price. The Canon 600EX-RT flash is £430. This thing is not just cheaper, but in a different world price-wise. Even is this proves less reliable and needs replaced every year or so, it would still be worth it. I can buy almost NINE of these for the cost of the Canon. Okay so it does not have ETTL, but that is of limited use when bounce flashing or shooting through an umbrella etc anyway. It is also a little tricky to get the diffuser panel out. Generally I am a fan of paying extra for quality and would not normally even consider a typically "cheap" copy of anything. Canon's ridiculous pricing though means I have, and I am glad I have. I bought this and the pair of triggers mentioned for about seventy-five quid. Used with my existing Canon 430EX II flash and I have twin wireless flash. To do this with an all canon setup such as two 600EX-RT and a transmitter from Canon would be about one thousand pounds. I will update the review in time if anything changes, so far though I am very happy.

Lots of info on the net about this model. Very popular and rightly so. The power output rivals high end canon nikon speedlights which cost over £300. The new YN560tx (£25 on ebay) allows you to remotely adjust the power/ zoom settings and fire 6 separate groups of YN560iii flashes! I was going to get some elinchrom d-lites but this setup offers way more versatility for less money. The S2 optical slave mode is very useful as it allows you to fire the flash in conjunction with a TTL setup e.g. as a background fill. You also get external power sockets and sync ports which are found only on the most expensive canon nikon speedlites. This flash doesn't do TTL and the flash power needs to be set by you manually. If you want TTL flash always go for the dedicated same manufacturers flash. Third party TTL flashes such as those from Yongnuo Nissin Metz etc will never offer the same consistency of exposure as the pricier units from Canon Nikon. As with all speedlites bounce the light off walls/ceilings or use softboxes/modifiers for best results.

I used to have an original Canon flashgun, but when that blew up (my own fault, it got wet) I took a chance on this Yongnuo brand. Amazing....they do the job but at a fraction of the cost. I now have 2 of these ones, and 1 other, a new model with TTL and HSS. These flashguns are every bit as good as the Canon equivalent. Perhaps a little less well built, and perhaps a little slower to recharge from a high power discharge, but they do the job well. Like I say, I have 3 now, with compatible triggers and receivers. I'm definitely a Yongnuo fan now.

So I bought this out of desperation due to a low budget and a looming wedding of a friend and now I am actually quite impressed, ended up being my main flash and was very reliable. I did burn though 8 batteries in full (2 sets of Eneloop’s) and half of a third set but I was very happy. I am actually planning on getting another 2, minimum, so I can use them as back lighting and fill lighting. You should watch some reviews online and make your own mind up but the feature list is quite complete and I have had no issues. For the price I cannot imagine being able to find anything better.

I bought 3 of these and have used them for a few quickie location portrait jobs. They work well indoors. THE INFRARED TRIGGER DOES NOT WORK WELL OUTSIDE!! Forget the IR and go with Pocket Wizards. Firing these units with a pop-up camera flash worked very well indoors with my Nikon D-610. I was able to get the units to fire consistently with my pop-up on 1/16th power. That's a good thing if no one else is firing a flash. For weddings, you must use a Pocket Wizard or other radio trigger. These are totally manual, so expect a learning curve if you didn't serve time in the old school of 'dumb' speedlights. As for me, I like the manual speedlights because they are cheap and they always put out the brightness you set them on. TTL units can be easily fooled. Battery life is low, because these units may not have a recycle circuit. I didn't get any more flashes on various powers than I did on full power. So every flash, no matter the setting, uses a full power load. Excess is dumped. Too bad. Batteries get hot and fail quickly. Not great for the wedding and event shooters. But for 40 or 50 flashes on a quartet of AA batteries, you get big output. Summary: Good value

I love these for off camera flashes. The built in optical slaving is great for anyone looking for economic off camera lighting that can travel and operate without electricity. They cost 1/3 what my Canon 430EX II did, and do not need an additional trigger if used with an on-camera or built in flash. I use these with softboxes and shoot-through umbrellas, both in studio and outdoors. The power between copies has a tendency to be a bit inconsistent (one copy at 1/16 power may be much brighter then the other at 1/16), but they seem to deliver constant output once you figure them out. They were simple to use, easy to set up, and pack more of a punch than my 430EX II. Overall, I'm thrilled with these. I give them a 4/5, simply because their inconsistent power output makes them less ideal for on camera use.

This is the second Yongnuo flash I purchased, the first one was the Yonguno YN560II and this one is even better and has a few more features. First someone just getting started in flash photography, I believe these are the go to flashes. They are not TTL, but I think that's a good thing because you'll actually learn how to use it instead of letting your camera tell you what settings to use with TTL. For the price, you cannot go wrong. Simply put - they work and they are affordable. Stop thinking about it and buy it.

With so many triggering options and it puts out as much light as my 580EXII I prefer using these because I don't use TTL. I only need 1 Yonguo trigger on my camera and nothing on the flash for RF triggering. No line of sight or positioning hassles, master/commander preflash stuff. Although it can use preflash to trigger if you don't have a remote. Less remotes means less batteries, less cables, less stuff, less expensive. I like that. At this price I can add light everywhere and get into multiple strobe mounts at 1/7 the price, not counting triggers that Canon strobes will require or crazy hacked cabling.

I have the 560II and 565EX. I bought the 560III because of the Wireless receiver it has built in. That's why this flash is so excellent and I consider it perfect. You don't need TTL. TTL is for people who are just "Point and Shoot" with their flash (nothing wrong with that, that's where TTL comes in handy). Manual flashes are not for this. Manual flashes are for "planned shoots" where you want absolute control. this flash has everything you need. It has the power output. Interfaces well. Build quality is superb. And a built in easy to use wireless receiver? Perfect. It communicates with my Yongnuo RF 603II C1 transceivers and all my flashes sync together flawlessly right out of the box. I use them for off-camera flash and they just work. That's the bottom line. Less equipment to lug around, less batteries to use, etc, because it has a built in wireless receiver that works perfectly. I'll be buying more.

I bought this flash to be my key light because quite frankly, I find Canikon's offerings ridiculously overpriced. I must say, as a photographer who uses strobes frequently, this flash is everything I could ever want (I always manually control my lights so I don't need TTL). It's durable, it feels GOOD in the hands, the recycle time with Eneloop rechargable batteries even when the flash is at full power is just incredible, and the compatibility with the Yongnuo RF-602/603 triggers is just icing on the cake. If you have any doubts about this flash, buy it and give it a chance. You won't be dissapointed.
