The round base plate is 2.375" in diameter. The fixed side of the clamp lip (the side with the leveling bubble) is 1.875" wide. The movable clamp lip is 1.75" wide.

I believe a pu-70 is longer than a pu-50 not thicker.

I like this Andoer Arca compatible tripod/monopod head/clamp. I'm using it specifically for a monopod for telephoto lenses. The knob is short and wide for nonslip grip. Both ends of the clamp has plate stops to prevent over travel. The 70mm plate is generously long to fit on a lens foot or camera bottom. The 3/8" threaded adapter allows threading onto a 1/4" male thread or use the 3/8" screw to mount the plate and tighten with the enclosed hex key. The Andoer plate has the bubble level atop the plate without an additional spur/bump on the side that can snag against camera straps. The clamp edges are radiused and full length for ease of clamping without scratching and provide a tight grip. As another reviewer did mention, one side of the plate or base is 1/2 a millimeter off with the 0 marking. Thus one side is zeroed, but the other a mil off mark. No big deal in my mind. If anyone is really going to rely on the ruler marks, then get another brand/model that's 3-5 times the cost.

I originally got a regular quick release with a pull lever. That was pretty cumbersome for my needs so I returned it for this one. This one is more simplistic and I like you just twist to tighten and loosen the plate. I learned these are called Arca Swiss. I also like how the bottom is smooth and flat and has more areas to grab onto a tripod/monopod.

Works great. The effective clamp length is about 46mm - plenty for most purposes. The base diameter is 60mm. The unthreaded side mount holes are on a 45mm circle - compatible with RRS, Hejnar etc. The shift scale would be more helpful if it just went from +/-15mm in mm steps, instead of +/- 0-5mm,7.5mm,10mm. Weird.

I liked this so much that I bought a second one. It's a great option for Arca Swiss, doing the job just as well as base & plate combos costing 2 or 3 times as much. But for Chrissakes, that is NOT a 1/4-20 screw that you're including in this. It's a totally different thread pitch. If you swapped that out for a real 1/4-20 screw, this would be a solid 5 star product.

The knob is larger than the plate, so it either has to extend over what you are mounting it to, or you have to put a spacer in between. I bought three of these I have them mounted on both of my tripods and my glide cam, and both of my camera bodies. It makes switching things out very easy. I haven't had any problems with them. They seem quite secure, and fast enough to change out.
